First, your son isn't "transitioning to female" because that's impossible, so get that phrase out of your vocabulary. Second, if HE won't listen to facts or talk to you about it then there isn't really anything you can do but pray for him and refuse to assist or support him with this in any way. He will have to make his own mistakes and hopefully come back to reality before he does too much permanent damage to himself. I am very sorry you are going through that, and I am very sorry that he is going through whatever is at the root of his disordered thinking that led him down this path. It is highly probable that he has some other underlying mental health issue he is dealing with and is looking for a fix to it in the wrong places.

Move. Pick up and move to a jurisdiction where the children cannot overrule their parents. Move to a different country if you have to. Your choldren are the only things that truly matter. Everything else is nonsrnse; your progeny are your entire reason for being on this earth.

@@seandoherty4236 That assumes her son is not a legal adult. The OP didn't specify. But, yes, if her son is still in her care there are definitely options that would prevent this from progressing any further, such as moving somewhere where such things are simply not legal (and then watching him like a hawk to make sure he doesn't start trying to make or acquire DIY hormones and such).

Also, if he's a minor, get him off the internet. A lot of this is fed by social media. Throw out whatever devices he has and give him a brick phone that you can monitor closely. If you can move, take him somewhere rural where there's lots of reasons to get outside regularly.

I can’t wait until the neuroscience of this condition becomes mainstream. So many people think this phenomenon is caused by social media and is inherently a symptom of our modern times. If my science education taught me anything it’s that we are mostly ignorant to the inner workings of what we cannot understand. So it’s easy to call them crazy or misguided. If this is our way of thinking we should be deeply ashamed of ourselves. Anthropology tells us these people have existed throughout history. The difference is that now we have the internet to be able to see things once hidden from the light. They’re not crazy. They’re just different. And soon modern discourse will catch up with what neuroscience has been learning about this fascinating phenomenon.

She didn't have a kind word for her brother, even now, nor did she indicate any change of feeling, or recognition that he was looking out for her best interests. She still defends her parents, who made this happen, as being the victims of this, just like her. She still sees this as other people's fault. She had no agency, and the people who she steamrolled over were somehow at fault. If I had a child that had been going through this, and the government had insisted I mutilate and chemically castrate my child, I would have up and moved. Even left the country, if necessary, to save my child from these demons.
