I am also nervous for her as I was for myself too. I am nervous for her because I have been watching her journey of learning to drive, making mistakes, getting better, taking on difficult situations, and learning some more. It brought back memories of my journey, so I can relate to her being nervous too. The days before my test were nerve-racking and brutal.

I would love a video on moving off quickly at traffic lights! I always find myself panicking at them not knowing how to move quick enough while being under pressure

Moving off is either straight ahead or at an angle. If you want to move off straight ahead possibly at lights then once you have set the gas and let the clutch up to bite. If you want to move off quickly, once the car moves and it is safe, adding a squeeze more gas as the clutch slowly continues to come up through bite will help you pick up speed more rapidly. The change to second gear for experienced drivers is about 5 - 7 seconds after this and once in second it is possible to get up to 30mph in second gear very quickly. Whether you want to speed up this rapidly depends on whether you are in a 30mph limit or a higher speed limit area.

I had the same issue and I thought it was me being a rubbish driver and it played on my mind and I would stall too. Honestly adding a bit more gas makes a massive difference and now I can move of quick enough. Also helps bring your revs up so less likely to stall

Incidentally, if you need to stop to give way at a roundabout, line your car up for a straight move off. Do not point towards the island be centred on your lane and pointing in the direction you need to go. This will mean when you eventually move off straight a smaller gap in the traffic is needed as you can get away more rapidly.

i have personality disorder, i already had about 5 years experience driving the ex's cars, and riding my own bike. however for each lesson and my test i had only up to 2 hours sleep. i was paranoid as i didn't pass the theory until the third time around. on my mock test i stalled on a steep hill in lincoln that i had pulled off on before many times with no problems, this was on my last lesson before the test. so the day of the test we went back to the hill and i did it perfect straight away. between the hill and the test center my instructor told me that he was expecting me to pass with no faults, because ''i was the best driver he'd had in the past year or so''. i passed with 2 minors #1 went over the line on a roundabout. #2 stalled for no reason at all other than nerves. moral of the story, the pressure is only in your mind. good luck Taz.

I've been learning in lincoln, stalled on all the hills too in my own car thats not as powerful as my instructors. If you've done the junction coming out of south hykeham mc donalds last time i did that i stalled 3 times 😬 fortunately was ok but i hate hill starts when people are behind me because i stress about rolling back

@@sian2513 sorry for the late reply. Yea things are always a bit different when you jump in your own car. My instructor had a new 2019 1 ltr suzuki swift hybrid that puts my little 1.4 citroen to shame lol.. any progress is good progress. Its always good to put things into practice even long after you pass. I struggled with reverse parallel and reverse bay parking for years until i started doing lessons last year, i still go out now looking for the tightest spots to reverse into lol... same with your hill starts, pull up on some quiet hills and practice once every couple of days or so and you'll become more comfortable in no time 💪

Update: Sadly I failed my test over a silly but SERIOUS fault. Out of all mistakes, I moved off after parking on the left, just when a vehicle was approaching. My examiner was so lovely and felt bad for me because I did really well throughout the test. He told me he was going to give me the license today if it wasn’t for this mistake. Oh well everything happens for a reason. Alhamdulillah always.
