Thank you for being you because you are me and I feel a lot better about myself now. I thought about vacuuming today but then I realized my eyelids were sagging again (I’m 45) and watching love is blind and doing face yoga was time better spent. It didn’t help but at least I didn’t have to vacuum.

I've been influenced to buy containers but I didn't buy everything at once. I like being able to see the food without opening the container or else i have a tendency to forget the food exists. Also, i just like the aesthetics of a professional kitchen. I store almost all of my food in deli containers. (Love your videos btw)
@teresachaotic.corner3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with adding a touch of aesthetics to one's fridge organization. Is it really overconsumption if you're using everything you buy and plan to for years to come? And if you're going to use these containers for years, why not opt for something attractive... 🥰

I haven't been influenced to buy bulk organization stuff but home cleaning stuff. I LOVE cleaning tiktok and went a bit crazy on Amazon. In my defense, my hubby and I just moved into our first appartment and we didn't have the cool tiktok cleaning stuff, so during our first 3 months I bought scrub daddy sponges, bulk cleaning solutions, Dusters, etc. But it's all been pretty used and abused so I don't regret any of it.

heh, when you mention the repacking of the cold cuts in the beginning, our market has thinly sliced pork, which I usually get for hot pot, but I also use it for my daily rice or noodle dishes so I also split it up to make it easier/quicker to cook.

You think people judge you hard? I think 80% of the viewers just breath a sigh of relieve thinking "Oh God, I am not the ONLY one who can't do a full Martha Stewart after working fulltime" Also, I rank myself "Good enough" - My flat doesn't give anyone diseases, it doesn't smell. The eatingware is clean. You can sit down without getting dirty.
@teresachaotic.corner3 ай бұрын
I think "good enough" is a job well done when it comes to house work and home organization. Maybe we've been conditioned to see all these pristine homes on social media as the new normal, that we're shamed by our actual normal homes not living up. It's good to see and hear what the average person's home is like.

Teresa! Since I take care of pets and often have access to friends and clients I have the occasion to be in their homes. I very much respect their space, and don't think I've checked out bathroom cabinets, but since I often go into kitchen cabinets for food/treats for the pets I have sen into cubbards. No judgements, cause they are almost always neater than my abode! However, having said that, as a bachelor I must say I'd probably be in your category of tidy but dusty. I'm short also so can relate to not getting in the back of those spaces! I don't think I do much with blinds or curtains either, they're just there. But I've been told by friends that I'm pretty neat for a bachelor, so who knows. I am very well organized though, especially in terms of my hobby. I can usually find a comic book I'm needing for scanning or ressearch in minutes! So I guess I'd rate myself a six. Thanks for another great video and keep those fruit flies in the fridge!

In my defense, I don't touch anything in the medicine cabinets ... I just look (for a second). It's a good thing I don't get invited over to many people's homes😅. I think informing family members of their expired food items is a good deed, don't you? Btw, I cleaned up the balsamic vinegar ring two weeks after filming this video. Fruit fly is still in the freezer though. Here's to fellow tidy yet dusty 6s! 👊

If you go at it rationally... We have a factual issue of too much waste and plastic being produced. These people factually will create more waste than an average person and their purpose is to have other people replicate and do the same which far exceeds just their own waste fullness. We do have an energy crisis on our planet and again what they do increases their energy usage and they aim for others to replicate that. What we also have is a severe water crisis and this increases water usage as well. I'd say someone that profits not just from irresponsible usage of resources but also from causing many more thousands of people to do the same IS very harmful to their environment and other people. Obviously that doesn't negate the higher responsibility governments and corporations should have because they cause so much bigger waste than an individual ever can and should be held accountable first. But I see no reason to not criticise or call out what people do is harmful in many aspects. That's no reason to be cruel or attack people and being rude. But highlighting the issue and advising others to not engage in this is very much a responsible thing to do. We all should strive to act more respectful to the planet we live on and other people. Especially as we are experiencing the negative results already today.

"The circle of judgement . . . "🤣 Your brain must be fun to own. The first thing I thought of while watching this video was the classic line from "The Graduate" which I will hereby paste: "There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you think about it?" If Benjamin had heeded Mr. McGuire's advice, he'd be sitting pretty by now. (Who needs Katherine Ross when you've got a plastic empire?) FYI, I'm a big supporter of plastics. A plethora of plastic containers are strategically placed in my pad. They complete me. They're also insect-proof. Fruit flies in the freezer are charming - even adorable - by NYC standards, since the cockroach is our indigenous arthropod. (If you're lucky, you'll even get the occasional visitation from the extra-large version. I think they're called water bugs, but I'm not 100% sure and don't want look them up.) If you ever want to do a bug trade, just say the word. Thanks for the bloopers. Always a delight! Happy Autumn!
@teresachaotic.corner3 ай бұрын
"Plastics!" I remember that line! Also, love The Graduate... especially the scene transitions! So, um... my neighbor in our apartment complex has left three bags of trash outside her doorstep for the entire summer (she hasn't taken out her trash in a year, so the rest is inside her home), and the rats have made a nest... Having visited NYC in the summer, I thank her for bringing that smell to my doorstep. I'm not feeling so bad about my fruit fly at all now😅
@000849153 ай бұрын
Uggh! Sorry you've had to endure the NYC summer olfactory ordeal but hopefully it helps toughen your resolve as far as your trashy neighbor goes. She's probably a transplanted Manhattanite. Maybe you can think of the rats like little junkyard dogs, safeguarding your building from intruders!
