Fluttershy was the ONLY friend who ALWAYS cared about DIscord, heck Dash literally ditch him if he's sick (Course he was faking but she didn't know that at the time and STILL abandoned him, so much for the Element of Loyalty)

Is it weird that I actually thought Discord would be the one captured? I mean, he only had one friend (according to his words) and it hit him really hard. Plus, he was banished being turned to stone most of his life. Being free, making a friend and losing them after they run out of time. Guess that's the first time he actually experiences a loss. That actually made a bit of sense but oh well. At least that proves how good Discord is. Too good to be evil again.

What always absolutely destroyed me about the idea of Discord and Fluttershy having that whole "he's immortal, she's not" issue is that, unlike the princesses, Discord has likely never known loss before. He's immortal, long-lived and before Fluttershy, never had any friends. He'd probably have no idea how to process the emotions. This song really does do a good job of capturing that--Discord trying to push it out of his mind, trying desperately to forget everything, even her name, knowing that if he doesn't, he'll be forced to accept that she's gone.

I really feel bad for Discord and glad that he talked to Galaxy. I hope he has a conversation with Twilight before the series ends like the one she had with Cadence. It mostly because they share something now and that is they both lost Fluttershy... Even if Twilight goes through with the resurrection spell and if it works I hope that Discord sees Fluttershy.

I cried during this song as well. I recently re-watched REM and it's been an emotional roller coaster. The writing, art, and voice actors have done an amazing job! Honestly, this song and the episode it comes from are probably my favorite. Such care and detail were put into it. I loved seeing twilight and cadence talk, and this moment between discord and the memory of Fluttershy! I wonder when Fluttershy passed away. Was she the last one? Is that why her element was the last to crack? Gosh, this series is so good. Can't wait for the trailer to come out for the next episodes. Though, no rush of course!
