As an elderly lady myself, I must say that this is like a new lease on life. When things get out of hand like this, it can lead to depression and the lack of energy to do anything else. What you have given this lady is much more than just a yard clean-up. Now in addition to everything else she won’t be embarrassed anymore. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I know the backyard will be another challenge, but you will conquer it in the same manner as the front.

In the South, that can happen with trees and shrubs in 1-3 years depending on rainfall. I changed the landscaping in our yard a few years ago to plants and trees that require minimal maintenance. As you age, it gets more difficult to maintain. We are loving it now. Looks great and only snip here and there every few years.

Alex, you were a Godsend to the wonderful lady. Just wanted to give you a little pointer...you can cut everything much shorter, like waist high is good. The grasses can be cut to the ground they get pretty big so be brutal with them. I love that you work so hard to get every yard looking great. You really care some would cut the grass and call it a day but not you. We grade you up there with Sean from Blade Mate.

I'm only 45 seconds in and I'm in tears. That sweet voice saying you're an answer to her prayers and then a quavery "thank you" when you said you could make it look brand new and start right now... 😭 ETA: Finished watching and WOW! You are truly a wizard! You even had the dog enthralled! He stood and watched you on the mower, going round and round to cut up the clippings! 😂 I guess that explained the weird rugs and rags under that bush - it's where he likes to lie and I'm guessing she puts things under there to keep him cleaner especially since he's white! Still... It looks like a different house! You can see how much care used to be taken and how special her yard used to be to her. Hopefully, she can now get out for a bit each week and bring things back again, but she needs to arrange for weekly (or at least bi-weekly) service to keep things under control. Can't wait to see Part 2 and what you uncover next!
