For me it's a bit of nostalgia. As if I had found an old soft toy of my own and remembered all the past memories with it. I feel like i leave my body. I am so relaxed when i listen to it.
@Marcus_Berger17012 жыл бұрын
@@thomastrall5389 wow, i couldn't describe it better than you. what a beautiful description. i think its what you said plus my romantic view at the late 70ties and the 80ties. Im a child of the 80ties but i was too young to take part in the 80ties. So i missed the 80ties. Alltough i connect the song with the 80ties i think its a timeless piece of music. I listen to it when i walk through my city in the evening hours and i love when its raining when walking and listening to the song. The mirrored lights in the puddles on the street, the fresh air and somewhat empty streets + this song is utter bliss for me.

I still struggle to come to terms with their passing. I mean it when I say they were the most original bedroom pop duo to appear in the latter half of the 2010s. Their music was my soundtrack during said period, and they will always have a special place in my life. I hope their souls are resting peacefully, wherever they may be. All my love to both the lads, their tour manager and all those who are missing them.

This song has so many memories behind it. The good, bad, and ugly. The first boy I ever fell in love with I played this song, in so many ways to think and remind myself of him. I would play this song to romanticize what it would be like to kiss him. Then I played this song to drown in my tears, knowing that I would never be with him. Then I played this song with him in the car making out. I thought it would never happen but it did. I played this song being on Cloud 9, loving him and having him in my arms. I played this song when I had to say bye when he went to college. This song reminds me of him. The electric guitar beginning, the bridge that reminds me of running in his arms, the chord at the end that feels like acceptance. This song will forever be my favorite but it will also be apart of me and my high school life. The title “what once was” is so beautiful in the sense of having a relationship and knowing it was something but now it is a memory that we have to cherish and hope that we will meet again.

this song reminds me of him and how blind I was and happy to be with him. Not knowing the truth until I found out he cheated on me 3x . I wanted to refuse to believe it was true . How could someone who I loved so much, and I thought felt the same , betray me like that . Some days I prayed that I could just slip into a coma and see him and I again happy together , listening to those songs on repeat . Being stuck in that era of my life forever where the less I knew, the better . But the truth is beautiful and powerful , and I wouldn't be the person I was today if he hadn't hurt me so much . So I thank him .

@@bumpybumpy5911 I wish I had perfect pitch. The original song's BPM is about 100. Heard Stephen mentioning it in some video. 97bpm feels closer when you play the original though. I am sure about the 85BPM though. Just count or use a metronome. The figuring of scale is easy though. Use any melody instrument you play and shift scales to come down from the original scale.
