This entire song is genius. Starts off with mellow but consistent clean electric guitar to set the rhythm and pace while the subtle and meaningful lyrics lay over it with soulful and beautiful voice. These guys were on track to dominate the industry no doubt.

[Verse 1] Here's to who we have left Sift through cotton and stress When I slip away Well, I'll talk to her for days As for now, she feels the same [Chorus] You don't know this guy He's alright Overrated at times Oh, chin up (Oh oh oh) (Oh oh oh) And if she's lonely Man that's alright I will stay by her side We'll be fine (Oh oh oh) [Verse 2] You ain't worked me out yet And the future poses a threat I'm refreshin' to begin And regret starts sinkin' in And I'll find that hard to forget [Chorus] You don't know this guy He's alright Overrated at times Oh, chin up (Oh oh oh) (Oh oh oh) And if she's lonely Man that's alright I will stay by her side We'll be fine (Oh oh oh) [Instrumental] [Chorus] You don't know this guy He's alright Overrated at times Oh, chin up (Oh oh oh) (Oh oh oh) And if she's lonely Man that's alright I will stay by her side We'll be fine (Oh oh oh)

The music of hers has helped me so much during the pandemic. So many things are going wrong right now and I think it’s getting really hard for all of us but hers shows us to take things one step at a time and to just appreciate life while it lasts. Their music is so melodically immaculate, to me it feels like the acceptance of the past and a warm push to get off the ground and pick up the pieces of your life again. You can see in their songs and interviews that they had been through a lot and yet that they saw the light at the end of the tunnel, 2 beautiful souls living life to the fullest, smiling and dancing the whole way through. Yet just as they were about to take off, their time ran out and now they’re eternally young. Listening to their music is seeing the rising action frozen in time, who knows how far they could have gone. But let this be a lesson for all of us, life is beautiful, in hard times we just need to appreciate and love what we have because it can be taken away just as quickly as it was given. Let us never be regretful.

I had to take a break from Her’s because the comments reminding their death were shattering my soul. I barely see people talking about their talent, just reminders of the tragedy. Yours did not taboo what happened, but gave a good message and light to it. That’s what Her’s would like their music to mean. Not a sad reminder, but something to be happy and hopeful about ❤
