Interesting fact: In the Polish dub of this song, Jaskier, instead of saying something similar to "I'm weak my love and I'm wanting", says something like "Loving this way is suffering, I can't get new strength from anywhere", which shows that Jaskier's love towards Geralt is painful for him because he knows that it isn't reciprocated and he no longer has the strength to fight it. I've seen so many interpretations for this song being about Yennefer and Garalt only but when applying book Jaskier and how he sees the two of them this will always to me be Jaskier talking about his own love for Garalt and how he feels that Yennefer is just taking advantage of Garalt's love for her when she doesn't actually love him the same way. So Jaskier is just watching Yennefer throw away the love he wishes he had for himself and it sucks and there's nothing he can do about it.

"The red sky at dawn is giving a warning, you fool, better stay out of sight". Jaskier's refers to Geralt as a fool for not recognizing warning signs and referred to himself as, "weak, my love". It makes far more sense that Jaskier feels like he's lost his reason over watching Geralt make - what he believes are - the same mistake of being with Yen, over and over again. If Jaskier is in love with Geralt, then why wouldn't he feel like he was losing his marbles over seeing him throw himself at someone Jaskier believes to be unfair, bad news, and lose-lose? Her love is what is stealing his reason (all it takes is 'a look') It makes no sense to insert Jaskier as the person whose reason is being stolen by her. Thus "I'm weak my love, and I am wanting. I'll welcome my sentence." The guy (Geralt) is being warned but her love steals his reason, and he doesn't care. That's the song (it's crystal clear, I don't need to read someone analyzing it when I get it), and thus why the instrumental of it is played as Geralt goes to Yennefer and they have sex.

@@kyliem3728 That is not proof. It makes complete sense from Jaskier's perspective as he claims her love is "unfair as a crook" which by no stretch of the imagination is Geralt's perspective. And yes it can be Jaskier's reason being "stolen" if he is in love with Geralt and has to watch him go after her despite his awareness and warnings that she's "bad news". Every interaction Jaskier has with Yen in the show sees him as both wildly annoyed and flustered by her. And in that same line "steals all my reason, commits every treason", why would Geralt feel she commiting treason's against him, the perspective hasn't changed in that line - it's one person and Geralt would not have those feelings, at least not towards Yennifer. If anything Geralt would feel he betrayed her by binding their destinies. I'm sorry, but this song is 100% Jaskier pining over Geralt while also bashing on Yennifer.

@@TheBatzFiend It is when you consider that trying to link Jaskiers reason being stolen by the women's love (cause you think he's pining for Geralt) makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Reason is the ability to think through things logically & make sound judgements, and this ties in with the guy being like "I'm weak, I'm wanting, I'll accept my sentence." How is Jaskiers reason stolen? How does Yennefers love affect *his* ability to reason? - particularly as it relates to the rest of the song? Frustration at Geralt not listening doesn't equal Yennefer stealing *reason* from *Jaskier*. That doesn't make sense/doesn't work. What does work is Geralt POV - 'commits every treason of logic with naught but a look' = stealing reason (as said in the line before) & all it takes is a look from the woman in question (Yennefer) = Geralt POV. And that's followed on in the song by further warnings, Geralt acknowledging that she may be bad news, but he'll accept his sentence. Because her sweet kiss > reason. This is what Jaskier does- he writes songs about Geralt and Yennefers love. I'm sorry, but this song is 100% not about Jaskier pining for Geralt.
