Last November, fitness trainer Lucy Bergin started recording her weight-loss journey, taking a daily image of herself in the same outfit to inspire herself. After losing 35 pounds over six months, she posted the video to TikTok, where it racked up 12 million views. Joining the 3rd Hour of TODAY from Tampa, she says, “I just kept telling myself that it wasn’t a short-term goal.”

My best friend doesn't want to lose weight with me. She says she wants to, but she never commits, and for many years I've stayed lazy with her because of the fear of losing her friendship. Recently I realized that if she loves me, she'll support me. I don't need her to change too, but I can't allow myself to self sabotage on her behalf anymore. I'm almost 3 weeks into my self love journey, and hope I keep going this time.

@Healing Angel very true! My youngest daughter is 14 and just finished her freshman year of high school! There’s been a couple people who have called her “fat” just to be cruel and to offend her or hurt her feelings which my daughter is not even close to being fat or overweight by any means! She weighs about 130lbs and there’s nothing at all wrong with that! She’s a healthy weight and size! She is absolutely beautiful! A gorgeous girl! (I wish I could post a photo!) but those cruel words people have said have gotten into her head and truly made her believe she is “too big” or that she’s “fat” and it breaks my heart that she doesn’t see what I see or what other (good) people see! I’m not only saying it because she’s my daughter….I’m saying it because it’s the truth…she truly is a very beautiful girl! But she doesn’t see it! Because those words have cut her like a knife and made her see ugliness in herself. Those bullies need to learn what their words cause! I pray all the time for a kinder world …

I’m 73 and lost my extra weight fast without exercising only because I realized I was insulin resistant and so started eating within a four hour window, low carb foods and no white sugar desserts. The weight dropped off and I feel more clear headed. I feel sorry for people who get insulin shots and get fatter and fatter storing the insulin.

I would do 20-minute cardio exercises with her, then 40 minutes of lifting. While she spent 40 minutes walking on the treadmill. I lost 5kgs in 3 and half weeks. Keep in mind that i was fasting as well. Ate between 1.30pm and 9.30pm didn't eat anything before or after. I also drank alcohol and ate McDonald's on my cheat days. Which was thursdays. She has been eating good never had cheat days and gave up alcohol for the month, only doing cardio. I lost more than her. Was crazy!

I lost 27 lbs on my own with no best friend. Sometimes your best friend may not want to do this challenge with you & prefer to keep on eating the wrong foods. Remember though it's very easy to gain that weight back as you get older since older women's metabolism begins to slow down or go on a medication that sometimes makes you gain weight so you have to be consistent with it for the rest of your life. This is never a one time thing. I gave up high carbs, fried food & sugar with my weight loss. Didn't do it to look good but did it to feel good & prevent health diseases like heart disease which is the number one killer for women & type 2 diabetes from being overweight plus others out there that contribute to weight gain.

I did the same thing. I was eating under 1000 calories a day and lost 60 pounds. It’s not sustainable for a long period of time. I lasted about a year and a half. I hit a plateau at around 175 pounds but still had belly fat. I’ve gained 25 pounds back because I increased my calorie intake but still stayed away from bad foods. I’m stuck and don’t know what to do because I’m not going back to starving myself and also exercising either doing cardio or lifting weights. I’m looking into HIIT and a meal plan from my friend who’s a Marine Raider. Starving yourself and running for hours a week isn’t healthy or sustainable. I’m more depressed doing that than being overweight.

@@petrockmom8792 Understanding when there is a need to eat less should not lead to an eating disorder. Eating disorders are the perfect storm of ignorance, impatience and often pre-existing mental instability. Systemically assessing your maintenance calories, preparing healthy meals at home with quality ingredients and steadily reducing calories to a small, sustainable deficit is the epitome of ordered eating and the key to progressive fat loss. I agree with the sentiment that people "should eat what they need to, when they need to" but more often then not this is actually people "eating what they want to, when they want to". Very few Americans have any sort of clue what their caloric needs are or what the calorie/nutrient content of foods are. Also, unpopular opinion, but overeating is disordered eating as well, especially when it results in obesity.

It is very simple. But it is also very stressful. You body cannot store fat and at the same time USE your stored fat. Insulin hormone controls fat storage. While you have Insulin in your blood you cannot USE your stored fat. Insulin is released by your pancreas when you have more glucose in your blood than what your body can use. Insulin causes Glucose converted to triglycerides and the triglycerides are stored as fat. While there is Insulin in your blood you cannot USE your stored fat. ALL carbohydrates are metabolised into glucose. Carbohydrates are any grains breads candies sugars fruits cakes starchy vegetables potatoes carrots yams rice quinoa barley wheet couscous anything at all made from any grain anything at all made from starchy vegetables anything ar all made from fruit. If you cut out carbohydrates it takes 2 days to clear Insulin from your blood. When the blood is clear of Insulin your body starts using your stored fat. Your body has no other option. You must have glucose. Glucose is your fuel. Your body will finally convert your fat into glucose. For 3 days cut out ALL and any carbohydrates. Eat as much protein fat and green leafy vegetables as you like. You will find you body automatically limits how much protein fat and green leafy vegetables you will want to eat. Cutting out all carbohydrates will make you feel STARVING HUNGRY. Eat any protein fats green leafy vegetables, you dont need to starve. Your body is so dependent on glucose it will try to force you to eat carbohydrates. After 3 days you can eat a slice of toast a day, KEEP OFF carbohydrates. After a while you get used to the constant starving hunger, even though you are EATING protein fats green leafy vegetables. After 4 days you will notice you body is burning up your internal fat. You will notice fat is leaving your legs and gluts. It takes much longer to lose the belly fat in your skin, but eventually it will also reduce. Thing about fat cells. Fat cells dont die immediately. First they shrink and wait for the triglycerides to be stored, fat cells refill very very quickly. So after you lose weight it is very very easy to regain if you revert to a high carbohydrate diet. It takes years for you body to destroy fat cells, you body will does this on a , lost it if you dont use it, basis. If you refill your fat cells your weight will return and all your effort's will be for nothing.

Anyone can do this is really easy Don't eat junk food Eating fish and vegetables will make you lose weight quick and lower your cholesterol go a walk every day I walk 2 miles twice a day It's as simple as that I was 16 stone 4 pounds and 54" waist 😂 I'm now 13 stone 7 lb 36" waist You shouldn't really have a target weight you should just concentrate on your body fat% Also BMI means nothing it's useless all that matters is body fat

Anyone can lose weight with any restrictive diet. Losing weight isn’t the problem. It’s keeping it off without creating funky relationships to food, food obsession and body obsession. It has to be healthy for body and mind. Whatever changes that you’re doing it’s needs to be embraced and practiced the rest of your life. It’s a lifestyle change not a number on the scale goal. If whatever you’re doing you can’t fathom to do it forever then it’s just another typical temporary unrealistic restrictive diet which is mentally and physically damaging. Numbers on the scale does not automatically = healthy.

Years ago I used to sell hCG diet drops which is used along with a 500 calories a day diet. I had tons of sales because people would buy due to word of mouth from friends. 500 cal is fine if you're eating good food.
