I don't know if anyone already pointed this out, but the corpses are holding the brasiers on three different heights: waist (low tone), face (mid tone) and above the head (high tone). Knowing this, it will be impossible to miss the sequence.

This quest seems to be bugged for me. I'm in a playthrough where i lighted most of the torches and killed Dervla. I go to the shrines and do the emote, but no sounds play and the torches remain lit (I had looked it up, it seems the torches you lit before starting quest are supposed to reset for you to lit them again). No matter what i do can't seem to start quest properly.

@@davidtsmith33 That's the thing, it's not supposed to lock people out of the quest. The lit torches are supposed to go dark after you do the emote in front of the shrine and the sound starts, but in my case, the sound don't start after emoting and the torches remain lit. it's like the game doesn't even compute i'm doing the first step right.

It's easier than most quests, I can tell you right now. Hell Elden Ring had alot of missable shit and it's a great game.

I'm having this happen too. It was working at first, I didnt have time to solve the quest. I quit out and then came back and the quest won't respond. The gesture isn't working. The lights won't light up blue, or go out again.

It somehow glitched for me, I knew this was glitched so I saved revelation depths for later, never lit a torch before in there and made a backup save, but unfortunately it still bugged out.

Steups. Decided to try it anyhow with no luck. The first shrine you went to @Ninja Pups at 1:54 , that is the shrine and the first lamp to lit is right next to it right? Well I performed the gesture in front the shrine as directed but I didn't hear any tones (just the usual bell in the distance ringing) nor saw any indication to begin a quest. Anyhow I lit the first torch next to the shrine and followed to the second and third. Lit the third but it didn't change to blue. Returned to the shrine and saw the first torch wasn't blue either. Makes no sense continuing further I guess. What a waste. Edit: Out of curiosity, is there a way to reset the quest (in case you lit the lamps prior to the quest or lit them incorrectly)? Or is it that once you do one step wrong that's the end of it for you?....which is rather dumb IMO.

Probably because they messed up again and made it a buggy mess. Months later and I still can’t see the paladin memory after the crow boss, which means I still can’t fight the secret paladin boss and get his gear. They will never fix it either, as they only care about fixing bugs that take you away from their pay to win microtransactions to get ahead. Also, why the heck does it have to be all this running back and forth? Lords of the tedious depressing grind more like

I hope they fix this because like many of you I also lit all the torches along the way in my initial playthough. I think it was a requirement at the time. Either that or was necessary to illuminate the area/s for visibility sake. It's stupid now to have a quest including lighting certain torches in order when the torches you previously lit locks you out from the quest and reward.

I've already lit most of them before finding this out. Apparently when you do the gesture the fires are supposed to go back to normal so you can do the quest, but they won't for me. I've got the tone playing but can't do it now that the fires are lit and can restart them

Good for me on PC , NG+0, don't lit anything before quest. - Go to the shrine, no dialog but perform gesture. - Music playing, so quest is starting. - After I lit the 9 brazzers, all in the mine turn blue. - Go to the Unbroken Promise, kill it, go umbral, loot Armor set from belly between stairs.

There's a bug in this quest.. If you quit mid sequence and return to the game again and tried to do the sequence again by using the gesture there's no longer gonna be a response to it and there's no longer a way to complete this quest, I just did that and now I'm looked out of the quest, also I've the first sequence so there's tree braziers that are lit and blue flames but that's about it, I can't trigger the other shrines anymore..

a small note, is that you don't have to defeat Dervla to gain access to the Umbral Belly, just sprint past the boss and Soulflay to get the stuff

If any one is still struggling despite a new game + or 0 +. Try starting chimes at the statue that you can access through Byron’s camp. Then follow all the steps as above. That statue seemed to be the only one that worked for me. Thanks for the video

So it's a mix of sets. The chest and arms are from the Dark Crusader set, the helmet is the Ravager Helm (my guide for the Dunmire quest shows you how to get this) and I believe the legs are the Harrower Leggings which can be bought from Molhu if you turn in Harrower Dervla's Remembrance.

This one glyched out on the last seqence. My game crashed and when I reloaded it there was no more music. So ithink if you start the fires before you gesture or you quite/crash halfway it glyches to where you can't complete it

Even after patch, if they lit all my lamps out, the quest is still buggued. You may pray as much as you want in front of the altar, when you lit the lamps the flames stays yellow red and never passe to blue. New Game +0 +1 etc) is mandatory

For some reason my music tones at the braziers were different than yours. Same sequence though. Maybe the order is different per player account or some hidden ID factor, not per character?

Quest is bugged for me. All torches were already lit, game already beat (radiance ending), no response from any altar from the gesture. Even tried them all in umbral, too. :( Hopefully they patch this, I don't want to do a whole new playthrough just for this.

It's geared towards Physical resistance and Wither resistance. That being said it's still really good of you're doing an umbral build

I think it's not a bug but in fact the bad one for certain I saw another one further away in the area and she makes the music on the other hand but this one on the other hand nothing. after testing I confirm, the statue which gives the song is not necessarily the same

hey i may found the solution for the bug... interact with the umbral shrine befor using the gesture even if u have it already because it seems like even if u dont get the gesture "again" u need to trigger this point at least it seems to fix it for me ( for me it was ng+ so i already had the gesture and didnt interact with it befor trying the quest and it didnt worked but after using the shrine it worked for me) its the same like the tortured prisioner quest u need to open the umbral belly even if u dont get the catalyst out of it but this is the trigger for the quest

Thing is is you already had braziers lit from passing through the area earlier (even if it's the same playthrough prior to the quest) there's no interaction prompt from the statue/shrine. So no interaction prompt from the shrines nor triggering of quest with gesture. It's just plain silly they couldn't have a brazier reset for those of us who been through there before.
