I just want to let you know the music election that you used in this video was absolutely stunning, and how you captured the essence of Nara in film it's something incredible and interesting, I'm really proud of you bestie, I love you and thank you.

I am in love with the way you present Japan in all its beauty and filling the video with so much education about the heritage too. How you don't put music over every part but allow the viewer to take in the natural sounds. It's really like transporting us all there when we can't be there. Thank you ♡

“Im basically just riding my bike around and stopping when I see something beautiful” That was my life in Japan when I was younger ( much younger- no Google, no smart phones) . Such a privilege, and so wonderful to share your experiences with you now. Arigato!

I've been living in NC for 10 years now. Came across your channel last year and have been loving every video! I absolutely LOVED that traditional looking genkan. And that older Japanese man was so adorable and his English was so so good. I am glad you decided to tell us about what happened with the group of men. (obviously not glad that it happened) It's important for people to always be mindful that no matter how pretty and open the area things like that can still happen. I also have a fake life that I tell, like yeah I am def going to tell you exactly where I am staying and that I'm alone!? Also your video quality was beautiful, you are becoming a pro!
@heratlas3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mandy! The man was SO KIND! He was actually really surprised to see me and shared how it had been a year since he spoke English due to the lack of tourism. I hope he gets more business soon, I would hate to see anything happen to their guesthouse. I plan to stay there the next time I am visiting Nara. To add on to the being approached thing - it was so odd. Always best to error on the side of protecting yourself!!

How fitting that you followed your description of the men with pictures of you being chased by a herd of wild deer :-) The gentleman with the guesthouse that showed you around inside--that is something to treasure! He worked really hard to speak English for you/us, and a visit with him could be a whole video.

I loved this. The train ride with your background music made me a little misty eyed! And I love how kind all the Japanese people were. But I was not surprised to hear you talk about the group of foreign men in the park. It's awful that women cannot enjoy a day by themselves without this fear. It happens everywhere and it has to stop. You have every right to sit in the park alone and enjoy the deer without having to make up fake stories to get them to leave you alone! I love your videos and every one makes me want to move to Japan even more. I'm learning hiragana too! ありがとう

I loved your take on Nara. We went there a couple of weeks ago too. We saw the largest bronze Buddha at the temple near Nara park. We would have sat and people watched at the park too, but it was raining when we went. We enjoyed watching the kids run from the deer as they held out on feeding them when they were ready. We have a few shots of them bowing to our kids prior to receiving their snack. We will definitely go back next time we visit main land.

Nara has a special place in my heart! We had the chance to learn how to spell our names in Kanji and make origami deer at the cultural center while learning so much about the community of Nara. We also found Sake tasting establishment for only $5 USD!!! We tried five types of Sake AND were able to keep our glasses at the end. There was an amazing shop that sold vintage Kimonos for an amazing price and I was able to buy two for my parents for only $10 USD for both. Next to the famous mochi shop is a great little gift shop with scented blotting paper and the cutest illustrations about Nara! I CAN GO ON AND ON! Wish we were able to stay in a traditional home like you. Love this video and thank you so much for taking us around Japan with you!

This Vlog was stunning. You can tell your skills are improving at a fast rate. I loved the house tour and I am always amazed at how everything is so well kept and clean. I admire the Japanese for their tidy homes. Im so glad you are okay after encountering those strange men, it freaks me out with the type of questions they were asking. Thank you for the tip of being able to tell a white lie out of safety. The Yomogimochi looked so delicious. The only mochi I have encountered in the states are the frozen ones form Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The dear looked so cute chasing you but I'm sure I'd be nervous feeding them as well lol. I hope there little bites didn't hurt to much lol : )

Isn´t it annoying, that we have to have a "fake story" at hand in order to feel a bit more safe? Like, this is for real for so many ppl everywhere in the world. It´s very easy to tell if a person approaching you is just genuinely interested in connecting or not. That being said, thank you for a very aesthetically beautiful video. Not really sure I would not be freaking myself out in the Japanese AirBnB - remembering every horrormovie I've seen :D

That was such a beautiful home you stayed in and i loved that old man who you rented the bike from- so sweet and friendly taking you on a tour.
