What a beautiful thing to say about his lovely wife, the true love of his life. She is a wonderful singer.

How nice that he and Lani have had such a long and happy marriage. Such a rarity in show biz!

To this day Herb still sounds as good as he did in the 60's!

Just beautiful. Everyone who aspires to be in the music business should attempt to understand Herb Alpert. He created a very profitable musicical niche when niches did not exist in the USA - at least not profitably.

Me gustó que haya dicho que fue el sonido de México ( las trompetas) lo que le habría abierto la puerta hacia el éxito!

Herb Alpert = CLASS!
@ricksbulbs12 жыл бұрын
Class---you got it right on that! Odd, how I am now 45, born in 1966, when "What now my love" the album was out and popular--and all those years later--as a drummer since about 1981, and still drumming, I hear "A taste of honey" one day on the radio--like I have done for several years of listening to these old tunes daily, and I said "That's it---I WANT to learn to play trumpet like Herb Alpert! have a LONG way to go since I got my horn in Dec. 2011 but I'm picking it up! This is real music!!

sería muy bueno que en todas estas entrevistas colocarán una traducción para entender de qué están conversando y más encima de este músico tan importante como lo es herb alpert y que fue galardonado por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos

(That little "taste" seems to indicate he's a notably improved player -- both technically and artistically -- relative to the TJB days!)

anybody have any idea where to find the bbc documentary they discussed in this video?

Proof of Herb doing it right is that he’s worth almost a billion dollars now.

avdad2000 and to think he has been giving away five $75K art/music scholarships every year x 25 years now! More than anything he is a philanthropist!

It's too bad so many of Alpert's songs were used in game show themes. I hate that. I wish he didn't use the mute when he played here.
@tripjet9999 жыл бұрын
It's pronounced "Tee-wah-na," not Tee-A-wahn-a"!
@Marcel_Audubon6 жыл бұрын
sorry, sister - that's not how the Tijuana Brass (or an entire nation that bought 72 million of their records) pronounced it --- learn your history before commenting. I guess when you're the only band to ever have 5 albums simultaneously in the Top 20 you can pronounce your name any damn way you want to.
@VolksmusikPower4233 жыл бұрын
@@Marcel_Audubon I am a super TJB fan and I agree with the original comment. Just because a lot of people pronounced it like that does not mean it was the correct pronunciation.
