You are awesome, you continue keeping this wonderful instrument alive you picked up right where your father left off. You have the same passion and many people around the world continue to listen and enjoy your music, mahalo.

Dear Mr. Ohta, I bow to you and your virtuoso ukulele playing. I am now 61 years old and due to various medical reasons unfortunately I can no longer pursue my passion and can no longer play a brass instrument. Now I am planning to buy a ukulele to learn this wonderful instrument. I came across this demonstration video of yours by chance. Aloha

It's always a pleasure to hear Herb Ohta Jr. play! Thanks to you all at HMS for the 'ukulele community! I've learnt a lot from the podcast, so big mahalo!
2:49 - Only dud note Herb has ever played captured on camera. LOL. Nice to hear that Kamaka still is cranking out that industry standard sound and Herb is making them sound even better than that.

As a low G player I really appreciate this. Such wonderful playing!! One day I might be able to get myself one of these Kamakas, or a Kanilea - for now my solid mahogany Kala will do nicely!!

If i would change from high G to low G strings would that affect the string height, would i have to adapt the bridge and nut groove? I have a standard Kamaka HF3 Ukulele I‘d appreciate an answer. Thanks for the nice music. Greetings from Switzerland

@@danielwombacher2270 It is an appropriate selection by Herb, Jr. to play as this instrument model was designed by Kamaka for (and named after) his father who had a hit with this song in 1974. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jl6taoOZbNGpmpY

very beautiful. Is an injured thumb plactrum?
@honeychurchgipsy64 жыл бұрын
It's just a thumb pick I've tried using one but can't get on with it - it gives a louder, more ringing tone to the string - some Banjo players use them on all fingers.
@riderk70074 жыл бұрын
Ohta jr is the only ukulele player I’ve ever seen use one of those. They are pretty common in guitar playing though.
