It was excellent! And yes, we did a few times, but the large distance between fuel stops kept it to a minimum.

1978 Fiberform 24 with flybridge. Originally came with Ford 5.8 V8 and OMC stringer, and I repowered to Mercruiser Alpha 1 with Chevrolet 4.3 V6

after dropping the boat at the starting point, a friend drove it to our destination in New Orleans and it awaited us there

If you had used this intro at the beginning.. and made the rebuild episode #1.. this whole thing would make a LOT more sense.. some where in episode 1 there is a kamazke run to New Orleans and Back.. unexplained why or even how this is possible

How much fuel would use in an hour cruising at a slower speed?

our rpm's were 1600-1800 depending on river speed to keep the 10-12 mph overall. 3.2 gph consumption which translated to around 3.75 mpg including river flow of 2-3 mph.

@@SmallCraftCruising if you dont mind me asking, what would approximate fuel costs be for the trip? I am guessing a couple grand at least?

iamnitrox we averaged 3.75 miles per gallon as stated above. It was approx 1200 miles down the river. 1200miles / 3.75mpg = 320gallons used. You can figure fuel cost from there.

Envy Anthony since the boat interior was not complete, we put 2 in the V-berth, 1 in the dinette and 2 on the floor. Since the trip the interior is now more complete and this setup is no longer possible.
