Dean Jones and Don Knotts seemed like they got along and worked well with each other. Shame they or even Julie Sommars and her car aka Herbie's girlfriend couldn't be in the 1980 movie. Herbie would've never ended up like he was in that movie! Being dumped into the ocean to turn into a rustbucket until the end.

2:38 to 2:45 I know that hilarious part after punching the person where Jim hit that robber with mustache attempting to get the diamond hidden in Herbie's gas cap, is also similar during a scene when Thorndyke is trying to get Herbie and became the new owner which which Jim tries to punch Thorndyke but with the help of Thorndyke's workers, then he was able to punch Jim which made his hand hurt because of the impact.
