😊 Glad to do it! While not my color, I can understand why folks like it - flow, lubrication, and shading are all great, and even without it being my color, I found it very relaxing to write with.

As usual a very good and helpful review! Very interesting for me, since I tried Eclat de Saphir 10 years ago, and in that time it was an ultra bright, jump out of the paper, even for me too blue blue.

I don't know ... such blues just don't do it for me. The reason might be I had to use them in school. I like grey-ish blue and lighter blue with shading, though. Troublemaker Abalone and Milky Ocean are my favorites. Anyway, thank you!

Andreas, that's my opinion as well - the color is too close to "ordinary" - ballpoints and rollerballs. This is one of the better ones, but still too close to that. I much more prefer unusual colors, things you don't see coming out of most pens! 😅 Grey-blue and blue-black are at the top of my "favorite ink colors" list, along with murky greens. I haven't check out your favorites, but I'm pretty sure they're on my list - if not, I'll go add them. (That said, someone just gifted me around 100 samples - so it may be quite a while before I go get anything off my list!! 😲 ) And you're very welcome - thanks for your comments! 😊

love this ink and have used it constantly for at least 5yrs but would love it more if it wasn’t quite so wet: it makes my Japanese EF nibs put down a fatter line than they would with a drier ink, but it’s a difficult colour to replace:)

Thanks for sharing your experience, Angus! It is definitely wet and writes a wide line. Review 288 (in my pen now) is Pilot Iroshizuku Ajisai. It's pretty similar in color. Not sure yet whether it writes a finer line (it's not as wet, so maybe). It's 5 weeks from publishing, but keep an eye out - it might be an option.

@@EFNIR ajisai is lovely too but it’s an Iroshizuku ink and they’re all pretty wet but I love their colours: ultimately, I would prefer a drier Diamine type ink but if the colour appeals to me, I’ll put up with a wet ink!:)

@@anguswhite8233 Ajisai has average flow and lubrication (unusual for an Iroshizuku, but it sometimes happens, especially with the less saturated ones). Anywho, since it's in my pen, and the closest so far to this ink (Eclat de Saphir), thought I'd mention it. Never know, maybe I'll come across another ink like them - so many inks out there! 😊

@@EFNIR the ones I’ve got lined up for replacement purposes are: GvFC lapis lazuli, Conway Stewart(Diamine) sapphire and Diamine inkvent thunderbolt - I’ll keep you posted (J Herbin bleu nuit is a drier ink that I also like, so it’s a possibility too!:)
