Yeah, I got mine the other day and it's great. However, the promise to get Serato DJ pro license with it doesn't work. The website doesn't allow you to apply properly. Logged this to their support but no reply yet.. my trial is soon over ...

@@joelw.3921 you get that after purchase have to visit the Hercules website a copy of your invoice and a picture of the bottom of the unit with serial number is all thats required. Just waiting for Serato to approve my license now. #Excited

For anyone wondering, DJUCE is the better software for the Hercules. Serato tends to have some delay, while DJUCE has not delay. Serato is still a good software though

it is a keyboard shortcut. I dont recall off the top of my head, but you can look up the shortcuts within the program Edit: Censor (Reverse): U for the left, J for the right. FF: Alt+R for left, Alt+F for right. Reverse play: Q for left, A for right. Hope this helps!!!

Just bought the impulse 500 gold....got it hooked up to the cpu & using the rca output to the speakers. I’m not getting any sound though. Is there something else I should be doing?

Great little controller. One thing I find is that the volume peaks very fast which causes the red light on Serato to light up. I know its a usb powered controller but is that normal?

Why is there a USB-C port on the back of the controller? Can't find any info on it. BTW, this controller works with VDJ 2020, 2021 on Win 7 and 10. Haven't tried all the controls or mapped anything yet. Just got it yesterday, lovin it so far!

Great video. I was going to invest on this but seeing how only half the features are available with the lite versions I think it's a rip-off. I'm living in Canada and the product itself is $500 tax included and knowing most of the features are locked unless I spend another $200 is outrageous. Thank you so much for the insight. Is there a way to adjust how the crossfader mixes? I find that having both songs at 50% is far too quiet for certain mixes and scratch mode can be too loud. I basically only use the volume faders because of this

Bear in mind I'm coming at this with the perspective of a producer who is picking up DJing as a hobby, so I am relatively new, however I feel like this makes complete sense. Most songs are mixed to a 0db ceiling, which is as high as you can get without getting digital clipping (which sounds awful and nothing like analogue distortion). If you have your crossfader in the middle, it would make sense that both songs are at 50% as that would equal both out to around 0db, i.e., not clipping. If your tracks were any louder at 50% you'd get distortion. I may be wrong. I definitely get what you're saying, but typically what I do is just move the gain knob of 1 deck while moving the crossfader to maintain volume if necessary.

@serato the sides of the jog wheel don’t work. I have to adjust beat with the top the of the surface jog wheel. Is it normal? Is it a serato parameter to adjust? Cause its much harder than using the side.

Nice job on the controller I did receive mine yesterday. My biggest unanswered question is how do most people have this hooked up to their speakers would you consider the RCA a good option or is there a better option for sound quality ? You also didn’t do anything as far as the Djuice I guess I understand why that is another good option as far as software is concerned I believe

I have been dj ing with mine for a bit, and to be honest, I really don't like DJUCED. It's free and has every features unlocked, however, it's so alien to me.... I dont use seroato either because I have been using virtual dj for as long as can remember and thus it's easy for me to use. So to use the inpulse 500 with virtual dj u need virtual dj pro - which by the way will allow u to use it with every piece of dj equipment out there. Pro has 2 options: 299 $ (one time fee, lifetime licence) or 19$ a month no commitment- u can stop it at anytime And lemme tell u, VDJ Pro works absolutely well with it. I'm loving every single second I play with it, and the sound is pristine. But that depends also on the audio file quality - I use flac soo.

As far as the cables: U can connect rca cable directly to ur speakers. But to be honest u need a mixer. Connect ur rca cables to the mixer, or connect tsr cables to the mixer. Then connect the mixer to the speakers. It's better that way, trust me. U will have way more headroom to increase the volume on the mixer that way . Hope this helps Cheers !!

I have Serato DJ pro, however my controller won’t allow me to use the 5, 6, 7 and 8 hot cue beat pad functions. To reverse, rewind, fast forward and reverse roll. Also, my controller won’t allow me to use all 8 sample triggers. I’m only able to use the top 4 and not 5, 6, 7 and 8. how do I enable these beat pad functions and sample triggers so that I can use them during a set?

in Serato you can remap the Mic or Mic filter to normal filter so you can have FX + filter. In Djuced, you can have FX on pads + filters on knobs

However, I am still worried about the lack of a dedicated fx section for filter + fx. I do not know if I am really gonna use it together though, but it gives you more opportunities. But I thought about mapping an effect to a performance pad. That should actually work too.
