you all have an incredibly pretty farm! How the heck do you keep cows moving walking through a beautiful field of alfalfa? Well done!

Those are some lucky dairy cows! Personally, the bells would annoy me, but you guys do you. I like watching the cows out in the fields in the quiet.

Love cow bells! nothing more calming that sitting on the porch at the end of the day, watching the sun set, and hear the cowbells, Like music! Cows are smart, they conspire against us! Hey, we're going out to pasture, so let's make it fun, we'll split up in 6 groups because there is only 4 of them!

Running up and down hills is work. You must all be in great condition. Lucky cows, to be able to roam in such a green place. Thanks for the video. We have an old cow bell that was my dads. Use it for anyone who is sick. They don't have to yell to get your attention.

When I was a kid every fall we would help my uncle on a cattle drive five miles to his own place boy that was so fun to do

Up until the mid 70's, we would drive the bred hiefers 2 miles on driveways and state road to the dairy barn from pasture. Twice each year. Traffic became a problem, so we started hauling them . Trailers replaced trucks, and it was way easier.

The bells add a unique twist to the herd of grazing cattle!!! At least it'll be easier to locate them during pasture checks. Looks like some lush pasture to keep them contented. Based on past experience, moving a herd of cattle can have it's own challenges...not exactly a one person job unless there are some tame animals that are used to your calls.

I was going to ask why bell your cattle? , but I like your father’s explanation; tradition and personal property and I like the different sounding bells for each type of cows(generic term). Enjoy watching and learning about small north mid-west dairy farming

When I was growing up, all around us were small dairy farms; and beef farms for that matter. We were a small beef operation. I used to hire out in the summer helping on the dairy farms with milking, cleaning up after milking, and moving cows. ( Money used for school clothes ect). Seeing you move your cows brought back memories of certain ornery cows that loved to galavant. Always the same ones. I thought it might make a good vid(s) to introduce us to some of your cows and they're particular personality. Things like some cows would let you walk up to them in the field, throw a bucket under them and milk them by hand; while others, even in the stantion, you had to watch they might try to kick you. Some cows loved the dogs and would lick them while others would never get near them. There were certain cows that just had to be first in everything, and then there was that cow you wished all the cows could be like. I'm sure you have some good stories about some of your cows.

Do your cattle have shorter legs on one side as we do in Tennessee? Your hills look just like ours. I believe evolution is real!! Ha! Ha! I enjoy your videos and look forward to each and every one.

Dairy cows don't seem to herd as easily as beef cows. They all have a mind of their own. We would chase our young stock about 5 miles on the road to our other farm, the get wild.
