Everything you're talking about, I've done it, explored, pushed myself to be the best I could be. Lived an exciting highly driven life. Found my OM then invested in a restaurant and the whole lot came tumbling down. Lost everything. Now living a skint and frugal life and stuck. Following all of your guidance with the pod casts and books. I'm 61 years old and feel spent and done. I know there must be more to come if only I could summum up the energy. Mel, it would be great to speak to more senior people who are on a different trajectory. I loved the chat with your Mother In Law. Thanks for everything you are doing xx

This has been me for sooooo many years. Back in the day, I wanted to work remotely, before that term was given a name, I was clueless about how to do it. I made many attempts to start a business, only for it to fail. So I worked in different businesses, seeing it as a stepping stone to lead me towards what I felt was in my heart. I've heard that same voice so many times. And now years later, starting off as a VA, I knew there was still something else. I finally figured it out. Now I'm going through training to do something that I know nothing about, but it is connected to everything else I've tried to do. It's finally coming together. I'm glad I saw this as a confirmation and encouragement. I've heard the naysayers, and have been faced with many obstacles, climbed many mountains, and faced a lot of opposition. But the decision to move forward is my determination. Just as Marie said when you lose everything what else do you have to lose, but to move forward.

I’ve not finished listening (yet). First - thank you, Mel for all of the awesome content you provide. I’m 50. For years and years I’ve convinced myself the sales jobs I’ve had were necessity because I’m a single mom. Yes - they were and I have been moderately successful and more importantly they afforded me schedule flexibility so I could be in the school pick up line, school events, etc. So - I’m that respect, I am very grateful for what I have done to provide for my family. My youngest is 15 and will be able to drive in about a year. I’m ready now. I’m killing my dream(s) by overthinking EVERYTHING! Honestly, the overthinking is exhausting. The time to start is now and I thank you for the confirmation and the boost. Yes - everything is figure out-able! I didn’t come this far to just come this far.

I still have hope and joy and it’s OK to buy myself something to wear or to go out to dinner or to be happy and to stop focusing on the negative that’s just somethings thank you Mel for being yourself.

I'm poor and broke right now. 3 years at a company with absolutely nothing to show for it, they went bankrupt, fired thousands of people. No warning, no PTO paid out, no severance. Just unemployment that lasted 3.5 months. I fought for 2 months to get that money! I've gotten a job offer that will likely keep me poor, couldn't get anything else, horrible economy right now. I've applied to over 1,000+ jobs in 3.5 months. My resume is 93 and above for ATS match to the jobs I applied for. I've gotten rejection after rejection, horrible interviews, bait and switched for jobs, positions that were cancelled, video interviews, all kids of tests, psychology evaluations etc. I just don't care anymore and I'm going back to something I stopped years ago and loved doing. I'm not homeless yet, so perhaps this can bring in a side gig income because I will need it!

I am so sorry about your situation! This sounds so stressful. Is there a chance for you to learn a new skill? Perhaps, in a community college (they may have free classes where you can learn), online free materials that can actually land you a job if you put in an afford. I went to school for Criminal Justice but then realized that this is not what I wanted to do - so now I am learning to code from KZbin and I just started college. I know it will take work to learn and find a job or start something with coding but it is a real skill. What skill could you learn? Also, I am sure you could apply for FAFSA and get help with a degree- just choose a degree wisely- make sure you can make money when you graduate. You will be in my prayers. Don’t give up! Put one foot in front of the other when it is all you can do, but keep moving forward. Don’t settle- you deserve more. You can do it!

That "what's wrong with me" voice keeps so many of us stuck thinking that we're the problem. We gotta instead use that voice as an opportunity to dig more to find out what we actually and the root of what's holding us back.

How do you deal with a co worker who constantly wants to find mistakes you might do or run to the boss, telling you that you re doing things wrong just because she doesń t like you 😏?
@srkish4395
@srkish4395 6 ай бұрын
move your desk and report that there is too much discussion from this individual, and book a meeting with the "boss" , this individual needs to shut down and give attention to the work THEY DO, not you. This is not promoting anything, especially team work, you need to shut this crap down! or transfer to another dept if possible!! you are not at work to make friends and making anything personal does NOT work out well. Make a difference and get your points down on paper and book a meeting and ensure minutes are taken on your part AND email "boss" with what they are expected to do and yourself ( if anything). GOOD LUCK

@@wheretheseedbegins4 in experience and in discussions with many staff, the report to HR usually provides fruitless resolutions for a staff member in 70 percent of cases but great to have documentation that you provide for record keeping, and engage the union for same type of record keeping. Many factors at play here.

Mel, how is this gonna help your average Joe. I know you don’t know what it’s like to be an average person but for someone like me that’s listening, how does this help us because this woman already had a successful life so she only moved up a little higher, she was already on Wall Street for God sakes! But how does the person who is not successful, who has struggled her whole life who is at the bottom work their way up and change their life?! That’s what we need to know. That’s what gives us hope. Not watching or listening to rich people become richer.

Wait a second I get it now so this is like one of those pyramid schemes basically Mel you’re not for people like me, you are targeting an audience that’s looking to become a life coach, motivational Speaker or business owner. You’re not for women who are staying at home moms or just regular people who work regular jobs.

Right? The last thing the world needs right now is another life coach lol
@halloweendancing
@halloweendancing 4 ай бұрын
That’s not the point - for this woman it was becoming a life coach. For another woman it’s doing the hard work of being a stay at home mom. For another it’s working a 9-5. But the message is to live according to how you want to spend your time. For people like me, I want to be an entrepreneur. It’s jus to listen to that voice! But why watch a video about building a business if you don’t want to? It’s not for you then, and that’s fine!
