Thanks! She has some good material but she also tends to be redundant. I think her podcasts would be better if she started off with talking points & then just "get to work" on the talking points. It's like she procrastinates getting to the heart of the subject. 😀

I listened to first podcast today from Mel. Interesting about toxic gratitude vs graditude sincerely. So i wanted to hear more. I agree with these comments, give 5 steps, then jump in. She is still talking about her hitting the snooze button

@@conniegarcia5150A key component of learning any material is repetition. Mel repeats the important components and gives examples so that we are more likely to comprehend, retain and apply them. After hearing this enough times I have memorized it and could visualize myself doing those things in the morning.

Hi Mel… I hope this helps to inspire your listeners.. I am a fitness trainer.. my alarm goes off at 4 am, mon thru fri.. I start work at 5 am… with a 30 minute commute.. work ends at 3, and I go running after my shift… I’ve been doing this for over 15 years… I used to only have a few clients, and now I have a waitlist, and see over 40 a week.. I’m sharing because this concept you bring today is the truth!!! The evening routine is critical, and the morning routine sets your day!… hard work, consistency, and dedication to yourself will allow you to grow, in many ways! Amazing podcast today, thank you for bringing this to people, you are amazing Mel!.. 🙏🤗❤️

It’s crazy how your former self is exactly who I currently am and have yearned not to be for as long as I can remember! I didn’t just hit the snooze button, I would set 5+ “snooze” alarms as my backup because my brain was so trained to snooze that I would not even consciously wake up to hit the snooze button and actually turn it completely off. I used to be proud to call myself the “Queen of Procrastination”. Just typing that now makes me nauseous! I’m so grateful and excited for the new me!!! Thank you! 💜

Hi Mel! I've recently started listening to your podcasts and you've said something like you try to read everything directed at you. So, I'm hoping you see this and learn how you litereally SAVED MY LIFE today, not just changed it!! I am a snooze buttoner, lifelong and daily. Not today. I 5-4-3-2-1'd my wakeup. I woke up to my fitbit charger having latched on to a tiny spring that must have fallen out of my pocket from a pen that fell apart. The spring was stuck to 2 ports of the magnetized fitbit charger, had gotten red hot and started to flame. I wear a CPAP, so i didn't even smell the acrid scent of the melting plastic. I put it out immediately, of course! But, if i had hit the snooze, that flame would have caught on to the dangling bedsheets and/or the rug on the floor and, while that may not have actually killed me, I'm not sure i could have had as much control over the situation!! Let me add that I travel for work and rent a room in someone's house. So, you actually saved 3 people and a house today!! I am a total Mel convert and will immediately start putting in place these steps to start the journey to a better life and be all i can be! Thank you so much for being a gifted speaker!! I hope to meet you one day and share with you whatever other positive changes I'm able to make on the journey of the rest of my life!! 5-4-3-2-1 MY ASS IS OUTTA BED NOW, BABY!!! ❤

Such good info. I have been semi- retired for a little over a year now. (Working 2 days a week) My husband fully retired. Prior to retirement I had a million things I wanted to do, but once I actually had the time, I got sucked into doing nothing but the minimum with him. I need to come up with a routine for myself. ( I do make my bed ) but I get sucked into drinking coffee and reading for hours. Thanks for the kick in the ass!

Awesome. I had gotten out of the habits I grew up with. Because I was expected not to have an organized dresser, with very little on top. I was also expected to shower & eat breakfast & be ready for the day, even if it was the weekend. And to know what I was going to wear the following day. If it was a weekday, we knew we had to be prepared for school. If it was the weekend, it was yard work & stacking wood that kept us busy, after that I could go hang out with my friends. Maybe it’s why I had so much energy in my youth. We’d ride motorcycles, go berry picking, sell the berries to my friends mom & she’d make jelly/jame & pancake suryup out of it & serve us pancakes @ 10 AM:: by that time it was brunch time for me. She was like a second mother to me. Then I’d be due home @ Sundown. Thx!! Time for me to put this into practice: keep my house organized, besides eat a healthy diet & wake up @ 6 AM all the time!!

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzbin.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

Oh Mel! You re truly on fire! What a great video! How powerful & authentic you have become in your speech too! ! I really love you for ALL that you are (You true Leader!) and for all the gifts you give so geneously to the world! Thank you Mel! I ve learnt sooooooo much from you and my life has become so much easier and abundant since I ve integrated some of your morning rituals into my life. . I am reaching my goals with the high five habit and by writing my 5 dreams down every morning after waking. Then I get up and make my bed. I do 15 min of meditation and about the same amount or more on Yoga. I ve had this morning routine for some many years or decades and Mel really improved it by adding the high five habit, The 5 dreams writing and the 54321 practise to get out of bed that really works. Plus other hacks from neuroscience on how to deal with anxiety. But I must say looking into my eyes every morning with a smile and a cheering myself on with the high five in front of the mirror after brushing my teeth has made me become my best buddy! And thats the MAGIC!!! And Ive only been practising for about 2-3 months now! thank you Mel for your amazing contribution to a Greater New Wordl of EMPOWERED PEOPLE!!! xxcarla

I am not an expert, just a stay-at-home mom who only woke up to take care of everyone else's needs my whole life, but now that I am Self-employed i wake up to do little creative projects for myself. I find I sometimes want to skip my meditation time and just get right to the things I planned. A morning routine could include journaling, writing memoir, or baking. Just set yourself some goals to learn or teach something and you'll have that goal to wake up for.

My 30's was a complete mess. Now I'm in my late 40's I can see it. I worked full time midnights at the time. My schedule was, get home from work and stay moving because I had to get the kids to school. Walk my youngest and dog to school (yes even in the winter) that was a 30-40 minute walk. Finally bed time at 9:30 and then wake up at 2:30 to walk to get my son for 3:30. I was jealous and made at my husband who sleeps long and solid. On our days off we'd call "I'm sleeping in". And even though I layed there awake, I didn't get out of bed until noon. On top of all that I never took my thyroid pill because I didn't have a routine and never gave it a thought. I'm surprised I lived through that stage. Oh, at 38 I had my second open heart surgery, so ya. A hard 10 years.

Yes Mel Yes Mel, high five. The bio mom of myself, was an attorney. Corporate. The morning was an absolute disaster and night mare with her. Worse yet, the ego could not admit. I was supposed to take on all her bad traits as if I was her split, the side of her she could not afford to see. The competitive nature and jealousy were massive. If I was more financially successful that would be unacceptable. The ego of the bio mom could not handle a daughter who does better than she did. She couldn't fool me and our no contact destroyed our family. Thanks for sharing what you shared about who you were.

I'm definitely not a procrastinator. I'm a goal setter. I imitate what my father taught me. So I agree with Mel on following through. What I don't agree with is telling people that success is due to a "morning routine". It depends on your "wake up" routine and how you follow through. I work and have my own business in a field where I provide a service for people and I cannot wake up at 5 or 6am. My business stays open until 9pm and then there is more work to do. I open at 11am and by appointment only. I get to decide when I work. I don't run around like people do on a routine. My days vary. But when I do work, I am very effective and teach others to follow through. So if you're not a morning person, don't worry about the time. Just as long as you get your work done in a laser focused way, you'll be successful. Example: I worked in the same building as people who lived by the morning routine. It ruined my business as they would continue to say that the doors closed at 6pm do they could go to bed at 8pm. How ridiculous. I moved and now have success. I close at 9pm.

@jelly-the-customizer I can understand where you're coming from though. I wish am like you with consistent routines. You see that part that you don't agree with Mel and everything she is teaching is primarily targeted at people like her old self. You are very fortunate that you got a father who taught you many things that shaped your life so most of the things Mel is teaching today may not have a strong impact on you as it does her target audience. I have stuggled with so many things in life and Mel just made me realized that I just need a consistent morning routine to start the change in my life. The morning routine is truly a missing ritual that if learnt and sustained would be a bottom line for more wins no matter how small. This fact only relates to Mel's target audience.

@@kelsaspire You see, I like Mel, but I can disagree with some of her advice. She does have an audience. I am part of that audience. It's not black and white. From experience, I can see how some people will jump on a bandwagon and if they can't get the morning thing down, they will feel defeated. No. That's not how it should be. Everyone is different. Here's an example, just last year, before I established my business, I worked with people that believed in the morning routine thing. Those people were about 20 years younger than me and I could see their downfall was being too rigid because they heard a guru teaching that the morning routine was the thing. I saw the wife making herself sick over this. She would run home because of this schedule and then the next day had headaches. At about 6 months in she had me covering for her. I kept quiet because I believe in letting people live and learn. The thing is, It's not so much just the morning routine, it's the fulfillment of a goal and the routine is important to get you there. Here's an example: I just got back from my mechanic who closes his shop at 12 am (midnight). He opened up his business at the age of 23 and has been in business for 8 years. He is very successful in what he does. He doesn't have an early morning routine. Yet, he is doing it, and he has a boatload of clients. What I see as a problem with many people is the lack of discipline in almost any which way. I see disorganization, procrastination, and just a lack of commitment to what they set out to do. If the morning routine works for you, more power to you. It doesn't for me and that's all. I am part of the audience. I believe people can achieve as long as they follow through no matter what time they start. Oh...and did you say "people like her old self?" I am Mel's age. Lol. I thought that was funny. I like being old. So youthful...but I guess some people will call us old.

@@Subspace._tripmine yeah I appreciate the clarifications. I agree with you to a large extent. The point is, discernment is expected to be applied because what works for A may not perfectly work for B and at the same time might not work at all for C that is why variety is the spice of life. Mel has provided different tools and as a free moral agent, we try the new ideas and stick to what works. We determine what works not Mel. Her solutions doesn't have to be "one size fits all". If she personally got a desired outcome, then there are many out there who will get the exact same outcome as much as there are many who are experiencing her former self. The goal is for us to be our better self and record many wins. And I guess you are doing very well already. However, this is just to clear the air, when I said "her old self" I meant her former self i.e who she was before. 💝

Hi Mel, Thank you so much for posting this!!!! I absolutely love it and am striving to hit these 5 things every morning, even if sometimes it takes me all day! Ha ha. One question: I divorced with two kids that are 11 and 15 that go back and forth between their father and I. On the mornings they are not with me, I like to be aware of my phone to make sure they get to school and don't anything. Sometimes their dad decides to have a billion dollar morning and go for a freakin bike ride instead of helping his kids get to the school bus and suddenly the bus is early, and they are stuck. Thank kind of thing. So I feel some anxiety not looking at my phone at all between 6-8 when they are not with me. Curious if you have any tips or suggestions? So grateful for your knowledge and experience and laughs:) thanks again

Yes! It really doesn't add anything at all to her podcasts by continuing to drop "f bombs." I am no prude. It just shows a limited vocabulary.when you overuse any word.

Ok Mel high five but while I admire your passion, try to understand if you can, Mel waking up peacefully, and reciting something meaningful while laying there, is what is needed. Need 15 to 30. And also since many practiced not falling back asleep.. they can now lay there calmly without drifting back into sleep. Possible to lay there awake and gradually ease into it, with planned easing.
