I just discovered your channel and so glad I did! I've viewed only three of your videos and I am very impressed. The camera angle, the sound mix, the comments appearing in sync to explain what you are doing all make for a great learning experience. I'm a guitar player and worship leader and I regularly search KZbin to help me speed up the learning curve as I like to regularly introduce new songs to the congregation. Very few tutorials are in your league however. Keep up the great work! Also, love, love your Veritas guitar by the way. Very easy on the eyes. Seriously, it is stunningly beautiful!

Hey there! Thank you for the encouraging words. I am delighted to learn that these tutorials are helpful. I'm having a lot of fun making them. They are in no way perfect, but I do hope they are helpful. My approach is simply, "How would I play this if I didn't have a 15 piece band?", because that's the reality for most of us! The Veritas guitar is an amazing piece of work. I am thoroughly impressed each and every time I play it. Thank you again for the kind words!

Thank you, this tutorial was perfect. You answered all the questions I had about the song. I liked the zoom in on the hands, helps with which strings and frets are being played. I worked on learning some of it today and will be well prepared for the song by the time we do it in service. From down here in Alabama I thank you again for using your talents for God and always I look forward to the next tutorial.

+Jonah Ellsworth I can read tab, but I don't know how to create tab. If you look at my comment to Devin below, I go into a bit of detail regarding the chord used. Check it out!
@Chxse_One8 жыл бұрын
+Guitar for HIS Glory (Troy Trahan) Ya I looked at that and it still sounds off you just make a 0 stand for every string like this 000000 000000 000000 And put a number for the frets on the strings like this 001000 000500 000020 And so on

Hey! Love this tutorial!! Thank you for posting it. Is there a possibility you could post or share a tab of the solo in the bridge? We are doing this song for fine arts and I'm really wanting to be able to pull this off for some scholarship money. I just can't quite see what all frets and what strings you playing and I don't have good wifi so it's hard to pick apart this video.

I'm playing it in the Key of D. I've found some good chord sheets but nothing for the solo so that's the most important thing for me. My email is Chase Harper

@GuitarforHISGlory8 жыл бұрын
Daniel, thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you're finding some of this stuff useful. Move the starting note up to the twelfth fret. Same shapes from there!

On the lead solo, did you use the POG for your own preference or do they use that on the recording? Thanks!
@GuitarforHISGlory7 жыл бұрын
bresan79 Hey there! From what I can tell, they do NOT use a POG on the lead part during the instrumental. But there is more than one guitar playing that part, so it sounds enormous. I figured the POG would help thicken it up a bit.

@chavitacarranza8 жыл бұрын
what are the chords played after you played that intro???
@GuitarforHISGlory8 жыл бұрын
The chord played over "Overflow" is a variation on G (the IV in this song) with an emphasis on the iii of the chord, which is B. The chord played over "Love" is a variation of Bm (Vi) with an A thrown in. Really, you could play the same shape for both measures, as the guitar doesn't seem to strictly follow the progression (G - Bm). Hope that helps!
@GuitarforHISGlory8 жыл бұрын
Forgot to add that the phrase ends with a routine A chord. :)

+devin alswood You're welcome! Nah, the instrumental is pretty close to what is actually played on the original track, sans the mess up, haha. After listening back a few times, I do notice slight differences but, in the mix, nobody could tell otherwise.
