I really love a lot of Pixies tunes, but this one is special to me (also: "The Happening") It's such a brilliantly, violently bittersweet. You know right away there is a subtext, and you keep hearing, changing, still refining, as you hear the song for another ten, fifty, hundred times... Francis wrote it at 15 about the hobos who die in the earthquakes... Genius. Love his face at 2:16 ahah

Weird, I went to bed after listening to this song (and never hearing of the band or song before), woke up with Southbend Bevy by Frank Black stuck in my head, but couldn't remember the lyrics or Artist at the time. Found out through searching that it was by Frank Black and in the process found out that the Pixes and Frank Black (or Black Francis) were once one in the same; and it's also his birthday. Coincidence? This guy is an awesome artist!
