Anxiety is forbidden in the Kingdom of God. Connect with the Lord spiritually and say this prayer every morning. God, I offer myself to Thee - To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. I know it’s difficult but every day we have to allow the Lord to live through us. God will give you signs throughout the day that you are doing His if you are. There’s a comfort to calm anxiety when you see these signs. Jesus said to live like the birds knowing that God will provide your next meal. If you can help volunteer somewhere, that also will really help you connect with your brothers and sisters, and God will show you where to go.

To My Protestant Brothers and Sisters. I was Born Jewish, my great grandfather was in the biggest Synagogue in Baltimore Md.U.S. As a 5 year old, after a small pox incarceration my mother felt ill and fell unconcious. I PRAYED to JESUS. He was instinctually in my mind. I PRAYED & said Please save my mother, I'll NEVER leave you, so, I Didn't. I wore a Crucifix, given to me. It was one a Catholic Priest were wood in the Center and the the Christ was Crucified to it. My point is, I'm Catholic now, but spent 20 years as a DEVOUT DEVOUT Christian.UNDER NO SPECIFIC SECT. Now CATHOLIC I felt hos LOVE as much as I do now. He talks to me still, in his way. My time when I was a CHRISTIAN.not CATHOLIC or PROTESTANT or any specific sect. HE IS PURE LOVE. THE LABELS & RITUALS Are indeed important. BUT WHATS MOST IMPORTANT, IS THAT CHRIST IS YOUR BELOVED. AND HE ADORES EACH CELL WE HAVE. WE ARE FORTUNATE FOR HIM & HIS PASSION.

Cindy, just because the song/hymn is written by former seminarians does not mean it's a Roman Catholic hymn.. When one uses the small "c" in catholic it refers to the term universal. So yes, the song is catholic=universal. Used in Protestant churches for Ordinations, Commissioning of mission trips, Communion, and funerals.

May God bless you and your faith. Nourish it with the Word of God. You'll reap the benefits throughout life. And if you can make it to church, then know that it's always good to have a network of caring ppl around you, to be there for you. Please be ready to make friends though some ppl (no matter what church) might not want to overwhelm you, at least at first, bc they might think you'll see it as if they're trying to get in your space. They might be a bit unsure of how receptive you are to them, dear. I pray all the best for you, truly!!! You're on a faith journey and I really think you'll fare well!!

John Amata i am not allowed to be a fan of normal stuff only because I am religious? we aren't a separate species, we do the same things as everyone else just that we have different beliefs. in the end you cannot judge anyone. no one is a perfect role model, etc. so please don't act like you are perfect. as I said being a catholic is a lifestyle and we learn to forgive and forget, in the end we are all still humans and make our own choices
@RaphDeGrate9 жыл бұрын
+lew zav I never said I was perfect but there is a difference between normal stuff and things that would have priest gasping and nuns fainting. Listen I know you are a person just like everyone else what I am saying though is a man who is straight cant go on date with another man while telling straight people that they need to stay straight. Listen I was bored and decided to listen to this song (my favorite church song) and I went into the comments (only God knows why I would do something crazy like that) and I saw your comment and it spoke to me, I just suddenly felt happy. But then I looked at your profile pic and it seemed dark and vindictive somehow so I checked out your profile (something I never do) and boom! I'm judging you as a person but as a preacher it kind of hurt me to see someone with such a powerful message being into; violence, killing and explicit language. (I like all that stuff too but that's why I'm in the pew not behind the podium)
@swineman779 жыл бұрын
John Amata no one should be judging anyone. in the end i really do try to live a catholic lifestyle every single day by actually showing it in person. that is what God wanted us to do for our fellow brothers and sisters. we are all supposed to be proud of being Christians no matter if you feel like you are not the best Christian. God will know if we were actually good people

This song is so beautiful. Im Protestant but I went to a Catholic school and went to Mass often I think once a week we had it. Its so beautiful and sometimes stays on my mind, this song. Also I really liked Catholic school it was a great experience and I apprecaite all the good works Catholics do in the community. I guess in sum what Im really trying to say is, as we're all the body of Christ. Protestants and Catholics on the same mission, I appreciate you all.

I feel compelled to write this morning and respond. We are all the same, made in the image of God. We worship and praise God in our own ways and God speaks, do we listen to Him in His daily word? Do we live our faith that others know that God is real and real to each of us. In regards to Catholic or non-catholic, do we recognize Him in the breaking of the bread. John 6:53. Does my faith stand on the word of God?

I am not a Church goer and haven't been for many years, but I still believe that one day I will be called by my Creator. I am now at the age of 60 and in deteriorating health, realising this, my head is starting to tell me my days are numbered on this earth plane. Somehow I do not feel afraid, just want to know my Wife and Family will be looked after. I don't have that bottom less pit of money to share. Just want them all to know I love them. Why am I writing this to strangers???? not sure of the answer apart from searching for such hymns as this which I have sung in Church in past years and like, as it gives me comfort singing and listening to the lyrics. As a result of this I have now chosen two hymns this one and the other is Take My Life and Let it be. Having left my country of birth (UK) and now living in Spain I don't want some Vicar attempting to have known me for years saying things about me that all would think is this the same person WE KNOW? The other reason I am choosing the songs with lyrics is having attending more funerals than other celebrations in my life I find it difficult to sing in celebration of the life being overcome more so with the loss. So this way whoever, if anyone does attend they can simply stand read the lyrics listen to the beautiful voices and if able to do so join in. ALAN BORBEAU I too like so many have been through those dark time my friend but have found the strength somehow to continue so please do not feel alone. It is not for us to decide when. Be thankful of each new day and enjoy, as this life is no rehearsal, we do not get a second chance at it. Throughout my life I have felt that my only purpose here on this earthplane was to be of help to others when I can - where and if I can. I am therefor proud that I have had the opportunity of doing this being an active member of the UK Emergency Service and an International Voluntary Humanitarian Organisation working with and training volunteers who also want to help others in crisis, this work spread over 30+ years. I still help in this country too as a Volunteer with our local Proteccion Civil but sadly I am not currently active due to ill health. Maybe doing this is me trying to say i think I have tried to do good but also realise that I am also a sinner in so many ways and have often prayed to God for forgiveness, but there are only so many times you can do this. God knows what we have done right or wrong and only He Will Be Our Judge. I fall at your feet Lord and accept you decision. TO ALL who take the time reading this BE HAPPY live your life to the full, be PROUD of who and what your are and ignore any of the prejudicial comments or opinions of others, it is your life. God Bless you all and accept my love and hug. KEEP UP THIS EXCELLENT FACILITY.

Romans3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. Confess that Jesus is the son of God, that he was crucified, died and on the third day, rose from the dead, ask forgiveness of your sins and you are forgiven. Jesus took the punishment for all.

@@ericymtomand it’s rare for a hymn to be particularly Catholic. As Catholics are Christian (despite hateful people saying otherwise). Christian music gets heard and spread through many churches. My father was a Presbyterian minister of music and often brought in music used in other denominations. Now, the big crime is holding up Mother Teresa as a saint when she was cruel and took in so much money that never was used to help the poor and sick. Look it up!

The words to this song have always felt so deeply personal to me....when I was little, I would get nightmares showing me things that it would take nearly a decade for me to understand and my grandmother, Mama-T, would tell me that the way to handle whatever Spirit was showing me was to ask, "Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord? I have heard You calling in the night. I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart." She said that when Spirit gives us visions of people's suffering, it is Spirit's way of asking us to do something about it. So if you want a miracle to happen, you have to be willing to allow Spirit to use YOUR life to make it happen. She was one of my earliest spiritual teachers who I feel so deeply blessed to have known.🙏🏼

It amazes me that anyone can listen to this hymn and feel anything but love and praise for our Lord. In reflecting on the words, have always felt deeply called to listen more closely to how God may be calling me, where is he leading me, how am I to respond to His call to me? It is troubling to hear people so filled with rancor - that they become distracted from the message in the hymn - by the visual. Stop watching and just listen and ponder over the meaning of the words. Do your words of defamation add anything positive to the discussion? May He touch your heart and may you feel him calling - in the days and in the nights.

I am Catholic and this hymn is dear to me, when we were celebrating our son's confirmation, he was singing it over and over again. Thank you Lord

Amen. God loves you. Heal and recover well. My wife passed away two years ago and I still struggle to cope, especially now that I'm all alone here. God-willing I can go home soon to be with my family.

I am born again ( I go to a Baptist Church at the moment). I had forgotten this song from my days growing up Catholic... Till today when someone played it unexpectedly. It is a beautiful hymn. Blessings to all God people
