your honesty and willing to be so upfront with us is amazing Waz. You are such a great person and deserve the best in life. I too have major health issues (including being on the other side of ovarian cancer treatment) and appreciate what you're going through immensely. Just do what you need to do, I know it's all artsy farsty but maybe think about going to Ubud for a while and finding peace. I'd be doing that if we could go to Bali, but alas am stuck in the 'lockdown state' of Victoria! Just take each day as it comes and enjoy the ride! Btw those doves are telling you how much they appreciate your kindness!!
@BaliInsiderGuide

hehe... kindness to the doves. I can't imagine having continued with cancer treatment. Of course I'm a similar sort of sick nw that chemo would bring but at least I can still walk, get things from the fridge, expose my body to the sun, bathe in a pool. I think women would cope better with Cancer treatment given the pain they can experience monthly and child-birth. I am sort of vaguely thinking of Ubud but it's a convenience thing now. Ubud is barely functioning and I can't be bothered to cook anymore. I truly hope you are doing well now Larissa?

Sad to see, Kuta Maccas is quite iconic, always walked past it during my morning walks through Legian and Kuta. Agree with Sanur Maccas, that place is very good. Sad it's a common story we here, all these businesses under severe hardship, it just brings out the grim truth about the current world we live in. Great to see you have enjoyed better health at late Waz, pleasure to see your face again. And power to you for sharing your story of dark times. Many of us face it, and it can get dark. It's an opportunity to remind people it is okay not to be okay, and it is perfectly acceptable to talk to someone. Help is always there. With Kuta still virtually closed, most of the locals from the villages north (or south) would be home, must be crazy busy up in those areas, and probable quite difficult. Keep well mate.

Bali Life Me Hope you’ve had a good day today Waz. I agree with Gordon. I don’t think you’re BPD. You just don’t suffer fools gladly. That includes annoying birds that don’t appreciate your nest building efforts 🤣. I think it may be important to get some reliable pain relief sorted in case you have another episode similar to what you have just pulled through. Fentanyl patches , if you can get in Bali , are worth trying. Absorbed transdermally. Need to be applied when pain is starting to niggle don’t wait till it’s a 10. You definitely need some support during these episodes if they return. Keep your nutrition up. The beef broth is a great choice. You have so many wonderful people travelling this journey with you. Even if it’s from far flung places. As Henry says ‘ stay in the sun ‘. You need your Vit D levels to remain high. It activates your immune system. 🙏🏽🇦🇺🇦🇹🌈🦋

Thanks for the share Waz. Was talking to a family member a few weeks ago, and she mentioned that there is going to be a major mental health crisis coming soon. I've struggled for years with ptsd, depression and anxiety. I'm in a better place now, but it's still a daily maintenance that takes time and effort. I've learned this year is not the year for perfection and to be super gentle on oneself. Mental illness absolutely needs to be de-stigmatized. **ps. I like this newsy format. More sassy doves please.

Plenty of volunteer dog walkers go to the Ubud place and they also help with washing etc. We are not more important than Dogs although we assume we are the superior race. But do keep on top of your visa, there are no cheap ways of having a residence (so far when I add all the costs, including travel I have paid US$10,000 and I'm not safe yet). Theoretically you cannot travel from red zones which includes Jakarta and Surabaya and I believe about to include Bali. That soup you had reminds me of Rawon - a classic East Javanese soup made with the kluwek nut. The soup is very nutritious and easy to digest. Mental health is rarely discussed in Indonesia as it is synonymous with many negative stereotypes, some of which have connections with sihir (black magic) and narkoba (illicit drugs). It's good that it's being talked about, if only in a western context. Cheers for this, Waz.

From my experience here in Canada, McDonald’s has been slowly going out of favour as people become more and more aware of healthy eating. On our first visit to Bali I could not understand why people would even want a McDonalds. So funny those doves are such a lovely Bali sound to me. I hope the fellow who is suffering finds help soon before he hurts himself or any other creature. It is a shame that petty crime is starting in Bali, I have always felt very safe there. Everyone’s lives have been turned upside down, keeping positive is a challenge but also a choice.

@@Nessyk01 This kind of speculation is not appropriate. He goes to the gym everyday, may be on roids, but to diagnose directly to the negative? If he was out of meth he would be sick as a dog and seriously withdrawing in a semi-coma. After that coma ends he could be strung out but to be going to the gym daily, walking the beach and threatening dogs? I think he would be busy trying to find other sources of 'high' which are all still readily available including over-the-counter. Just my opinion though Vanessa.

Bali Life Me You are talking about heroin withdrawal . People withdrawing from meth act exactly how he is . No coma just agro and phychosis . But anyway you all chose to live there and now the party’s over and this is what you are left with .

@@Nessyk01 You sound so lovely. Ummm... no... but yeah... you are obviously locked into your Australian belief in a broken medical system so here's the facts about withdrawal from Meth as 'Health NSW' Australia spells it out: People who are dependent on speed, base or ice may find it very hard to stop using or cut down because of withdrawal symptoms. These can include: tiredness stomach cramps aches nausea rapid heart beat hot and cold flushes hunger chest pains deep depression (feeling very down or sad) being nervy or restless wanting the drug very badly (cravings).

Just image the first responders lives that would have changed in you had jumped that day..I have seen many & it has changed me for the worst. the nightmares, the scared of height even tho i never use to be. checking on my kids at all hours of the night to ensure they are still breathing in their cots when they were babies etc, the list of things goes on and on where you want to put a gun to your head to stop the thoughts and nightmares with some of my mates doing just that. Its a terrible sight to witness like a train fatal but in that chase they don't look like human anymore. At times seagulls, magpies and crows eating some of the parts whilst we wait for crime scene to arrive. Wazza you are the strongest person I have came across, I love you for not doing it, I know of your tough times and glad you went to Bali. live life to the max but in safety. stay strong and beat this cancer and tell it to fuck off out of your body each day. Pray, us the Lord to help as he can see you helping others. I tell him all the time about you, the way you have helped me, helped people in Bali with food and money handouts.. - the way it was on this thursday 20 september 2020, i am brian henderson, good night. now i expect you to do that ending in each of the following vlogs.

Geez Ray. I'm just feel pain reading your words. You should be on a ptsd pension mate. It is also good that you wrote the words here. I would never have even thought of that. With 8 suicides per day in Australia, imagine the number of first responders affected? I don't think I'm strong, I just have a set of beliefs that I let guide me. On that day I sat in my car, wondered whether to lock it or not and if I should take the keys? Then thought, my sister just lives down the road so I'll take the keys and hopefully they will find them in my pocket. Made a pact with myself in a mind conversation that, yep, today is the day unless there is some sort of sign from God or other things that I believe in. To see an actual sign, a new fence... it was a pretty big sign from God! So much so that I went back to the car, got the camera and was almost laughing at the irony and yet reality of what had just occurred. If it's of any comfort to you, I wasn't deeply disturbed or even sad, just had had enough at that point and calmly thought "today is as good a day as any" and it was one of the spots I had thought to do it. Many of my friends have done it and I just hope that it some happiness and peace at last for them. As for me? I have to fight my own mind each day and it's never gotten any easier. I thank you for your amazing words and prayers. Keep venting mate, talk to me anytime, take time out for yourself and think of how much amazingness you have given the world and try to settle for your current state and hopefully ease into something a lot better. Cheers mate. W

life without you in it would be dreadful. no bali vlogs to listen to and view. you have touch us all. look at the subs you have now. amazing to think i was number one. garlic lane is so special to be and i will visit there each time i go knowing thats where it all started. i had to watch it again just then.. how time goes so fast and so sad that i could not get there this year. i see mr 7 mrs monkeys vlogs as well. unsure if you have seen any of his but he claims to have got the idea from watching yours...he had only a few subs but now nearly 3000's. he is a lot harder to understand but unsure if you have met him after he claims that your vlogs gave him an idea to do the same...

Who eats McD in Bali besides locals? I'd be trying traditional Bali cuisine and their tasty organic chicken 😄 How is crime in Bali without a pandemic? Is it better renting a place with security or not really needed in regular times?

The whole suicide thing brings up the euthanasia debate... I strongly hope that when I get to your stage in life we have the option. As I will most certainly end it myself if it gets really bad... It wouldn't really be suicide in that case would it? Either way glad you didn't jump mate.

Megan's right KK. It's also what happens Australia wide in all aged care homes. Endone has a cumulative effect and on an old person, happens quickly but... I think you are coming from a different angle and I hear you. To decide at a point of your choosing in a place that you want. Am I right?
@king_kiff3969

@@BaliInsiderGuide Yeah that's correct as I'm pretty sure my end will come in that aged care setting otherwise and I hate that idea to the core. I get that in your case we are talking about the mental aspect mostly as you had plenty of fuel left physically in the tank at that point. I life on opiate based painkillers to simply exist isn't really a life is it?
