After going through several Hurricanes with the last one packing 150 mph winds I can tell you, it's not that simple! Many people have no where to go and no way to get there. Evacuating from Hurricane Laura there were no motel rooms available for several hundred miles. Plus, many times once you leave, the powers that be won't let you back in sometimes for over a week and if you have roof damage and aren't there to tarp over the holes, by the time they let you back in your house can have much more damage due to the leaks. While evacuating all sounds good, many times it's not that simple.

1:31 Those aren't boats, they're yachts. As such, you can be sure they're fully insured. Now, getting insurance to pay off in a disaster area is another matter. I guess if you're rich enough to buy a yacht, you've probably got an attorney too. It's the common folk who suffer the most...people who think of a bass boat, or skiff when they think of a boat. Something you can haul on a boat trailer.

I lived in Florida for 3months in 2005 before Katrina hit so I remember it being very humid and muggy when I moved away the road that my stepfather drove on that crossed over a bit of the gulf of Mexico it too was damaged at the time during the Katrina's storm surge that left a boat in the place of where a restaurant IHOP that we had stopped at the time of the storm occurred my dad told me that the restaurant was completely destroyed and in its place was a boat that was floating in the gulf

Hasn't the US VI been without electricity for a good 3 years+ since their last hurricane! Can you imagine 3 years, Florida! Astounding. Somehow something has to workout better faster for people. People not in these type of areas cannot due without cell tower coverage, water, or electricity in a regular minor storm. They all need to think about that next time there is a local to their area type of issue, and hold off on their petty complaints, especially in relation to something minor occurring vs something catastrophic!
