Big investors want that land for their own future use. Someone got paid to condemn that whole trailer park. There's nothing those residents can do about it except leave. There is going to be plenty of land-grabbing in Florida with house prices falling. Big investors with plenty of capital are going to clean up. Any middle-class or lower-class families are done for in the Florida coastal regions. The big investors are praying for more hurricanes to clear out all those areas so they can get a 50% or 60% discount on that property. That's a sweet deal. Big investors love to see the poor little guys and gals squirm and suffer.

Who owns the property this park sits on? If its not a new owner I bet you someone offered him stupid money for the land and the city was bought out leading to it being condemned.

Gonna keep happening, boss. Storms are only getting angrier and more common. It was always a matter of time. Lack of regulations and taxes are what brought/kept people around. Lacking capacity on all fronts, as a result. Insurance has to rebuild parts of states, a few times a year. Only way to fund that is through customers. Rest comes from the feds, which your dumb leaders keep trying to defund.. All at once. There's like.. 4 lessons in there, somewhere.

Either homes must be elevated 9’ up or protective wall build to stop high tides (not too difficult solution) or both - these are the only solutions & 3rd one is to convert the park to RVS to be driven away during hurricanes time.
@CraigC-h6b2 сағат бұрын
Or the city can deny any permits to build homes there ever again.
@ElizabethKlimas2 сағат бұрын
@@CraigC-h6b that’s very harsh approach considering that there are solutions & city is responsible for one of them like building simple coastal line wall specially designed to stop hide tide but you still have lots of hurricane’s rain water & wind damages to deal with. Another thing is that there are cities there with hotels, businesses, commercial structures, etc., not only residential places, so are you going to remove everybody? Structures must be elevated from just the hurricane’s rain water alone or super drainage system developed & constructed to handle that much water in short period of time. Than again you have the wind - there are solutions but nobody wants to implement them - geodetic domes are structures to withstand all of this - hurricanes, flooding, wind, tornados, fire, earthquakes, termites, they are energy efficient & if elevated (not 9’) but 4-5’ they should be good especially with the coastal wall or at least big rocks to break up/disrupt the tidal flow back into the ocean instead to the land.
@CraigC-h6b2 сағат бұрын
@@ElizabethKlimas whatever. North Carolina did the same. After so many homes being destroyed and rebuilt just to be destroyed again. They have made it a law if you live by the coast and your home is destroyed you will not be allowed to rebuild again.
