Quick correction: Although it was initially a British brand, it has been acquired by an Indian company (Eicher Motors) for several decades now and all the models except one are designed and manufactured in India at their Chennai factory. Lovely looking bikes and even better reviews though. I especially like the Interceptor 650 quite a lot!

Royal enfield has there design center in england also royal enfield purchased harris performance in england they design the frames for them so Royal enfield is very british in herratige. They do make some nice bikes.

@@andrewslagle1974 if eicher motors has purchased Harris performance, it makes Harris performance an Indian company and all designs by them Indian, that's common sense. So kindly keep the non existent British ego away. Cheers!!!

No you're completely wrong. Indian Madras Motors were creating RE independently after acquiring it's licence. RE india and RE UK were completely different wings of RE that is why RE india kept going even after RE UK discontinued.

@@Bangaliyana2024I don't know how the purchase went down, but if they kept the original British employees and used their British expertise to continue creating frames, then it's very much still British. Though I have no idea why people are so obsessed with the country of origin of anything.

Another proud Himalayan owner here. I’ve owned many bikes, and this one just hits different. It’s a little tank with a lot of endearing quirks.

My next bike will be a Himalayan (in camo green of course). I want a truck on 2 wheels and that bike is it. I also like the simplicity of the motor and feel comfortable doing quite a bit of work on it. We JUST got a Royal Enfield dealer here and I went to the grand opening. I talked with some of the people from Royal Enfield and got to see some of the more custom bikes they make. Yes, please, more content on these bikes. Itchy Boots rode a Himalayan from India to the UK. I have yet to see one in Moab.

I've owned countless bikes over the decades ranging from Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and a handful of HD's... just this summer I purchased a new RE 650 Interceptor and enjoyed it so much I also purchased a new Classic 350 in Halcyon Black... pronounced (Hal Sea On)... On the 650 I replaced the turn signals with nice metal aftermarket, a BAAK small taillight and a set of S&S pipes with baffles removed. This is literally the best sounding and most smooth bike I have owned or ridden. You need to get your ass on one asap with the S&S and enjoy all that is good about riding a motorcycle. Now, the 350 Classic is just as addicting... actually, more so... it is slow and lazy in the most amazing way. Again, a bike one must ride to understand fully. The heartbeat thump and smooth operation of the 350 is intoxicating, to say the least. I have never been a touring bike or bagger rider... my HD's were Sportsters, Soft Tails and Fat Boy... and quite honestly, these Royal Enfields are way more fun to ride and look at. So, as I noted above, get your ass on these bikes as soon as possible.

I've got the 650 GT and I love it. I had to reduce the seat height (I'm really short) and I've reduced the weight quite a bit too but mostly I've kept the appearance unchanged, it's gorgeous.

I had an original 500 with a chair on the side every time I visited my parents the minute, I pulled up on their drive my mum ran ot and put an old baking tray under the motor, she called it the Royal Oilfield due to the amount it would leak over Sunday lunch, loved it big old thumper, I tried the first Himalayan Adventure it was slow and uncomfortable the latest one is supposed to be better more power ABS, like the Scrambler.

planning on the interceptor as my first bike. i’m here in the front range like you guys and i think it would be great for around the cities out here, as well as taking up some twisty mountain roads. and with some different tires, maybe some easy fire roads!

Great info guys! I have worked on these bikes. I got to ride the military version with a sidecar. They had this model out for a long time. Are they still offering that? Way fun doing sidecar wheelies! The adds through your video really show what the company wants to project. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun!! Get out and ride. I would be happy to throw a leg over any of these cool bikes!

It's great to see your enthusiasm for products you were not aware of before. While the actual styles and purposes change a bit on these, their over all curb appeal is as great as Harley. But I have to admit, the Scram 411 jumped at me like a swooping Hawk diving down for its prey. If I were to buy 1 of them, regardless of whether you call it an entry level or not, that got my attention the most. I have over 40 years of riding experience on and off road, so I don't consider myself an "entry level" rider. That term always makes me cringe. It is like saying there is an entry level car for beginners. Really it is not like that. Price might reflect "affordable" cars to drive, but once you start driving, you are driving. Period. Can start in a truck, car, SUV, what ever it takes to get you moving. My 1st motorized vehicle was in fact a motorcycle. And I did not consider it an entry level bike. Most of my piers were riding small displacement machines than I was.

Great video guy's! Being 71y.o., I cut my teeth on this look of bike. I totally love the looks of R.E. line-up. If I were a young pup & was looking for a bike, I would probably purchase one of these bikes. Motorcycles of today are insanely priced, but what isn't. At least with R.E. you feel like you get a fair shake. Pre-covid you could do O.K. purchasing in the used bike market , with a few here & there even today. Personally I have never had the need for all of the shit that they load up on these bikes ( and car's) today. Keep it simple!! Illinois, USA

Hey guys, nice review. As owner of a '20 INT 650 and '21 Meteor 350, I can tell you to be careful what you wish for, because when you ride one, you'll go nuts until you BUY one. lol The economy, both purchase and fuel mileage, is terrific. Very simple servicing. Outstanding Harris Performance chassis. Sulky smooth engine and gearbox. I've been riding on and off since 1973. I love my RE bikes.

I am an INT 650 owner and I just love it! I’ve owned it for about five months now, and I shop at a bit about every day to get on it and go riding around. I have had people come up to me and ask me what year it is and how I restored it… And I tell them it’s a brand new 2022 model. Everyone loves it! But I love it the most.

There's one thing I'd do to the 650 Interceptor: Get the Hitchcock upgrade treatment. They have an 865 Big Bore kit, a better camshaft, and a much stronger clutch that can keep up with the profoundly upgraded torque and horsepower. Torque goes from 38 to 62 ft. pounds, and HP goes from 40 to 65.

A big difference between the Himalayan and the Scram 411 is that the side panels are intrusive on the Scram when you're standing. It's hard to clamp your legs against the sides of the bike on the Scram, but the Hima is made for it. They'd ALL look better with a kick starter.

Great video, guys, thank you. I've looked into these bikes for a good bit now and the quality has gone steeply upward over the last several years. And they look so cool. I love 'em. And you want to know something weird? I'm 62 years old and have been riding since 1973. YOU guys are young bucks a little younger than my son. And we ALL love the styling. That is freakin' genius on the part of RE. I'm probably going to buy a Himalayan soon to ride the dirt roads and jeep trails here in the Ozarks where I have recently moved. My other ride is an MT-10 and a very poor dirt bike! 😅 Keep up the great work.

They need more dealers here in the U.S., I’d buy an interceptor if they did. But 240 miles to the closest dealer to me is a bit too much. If that wasn’t the case, I’d own either the orange or chrome interceptor. Cheers!

Why are they so cheap and simple? Because they are manufactured in India and that is the maine market. But a lot of people in the western world live this concept as well. And when Itchy boots had a clutch problem in Iran (where it is hard to get any spare parts) that wasn't a bigger problem. The Himalayan is a bike to go around the world. You guys should buy some, you get three (also more content) for the price of a Triumph.

hps are overrated :) it's actually a sad state of the market, where everyone is pushing for more power because it's what is hyped in all motorcycle reviews by rather experienced riders. Most of the people don't need huge engines. One certainly doesn't need 100hp for city commuting, that's insane and very much unsafe.
