Even as much as I love my Cadillac's and have been around Cadillac's all my life, the Imperial was the best car during years 1955-1968. With the right attitude and care, these are some great cars. Proper maintenance and keeping them running and driving will make them run forever. Now I'm excited to see more updates on these Cadillac's. Its like cold air intakes. In theory colder air means more power. But in practice most cold air intakes perform worse than stock since it actually takes in more turbulent and warmer air. In theory, more fuel equals more power but in practice this throws off the air fuel mixture and just makes it run rougher. Car manufacturers spend billions of dollars on engineering to get the most possible mix of power, efficiency, longevity, and cost so why would you think a $100 intake or ecu would be better than what GM built?

I always liked these and thought about getting one with the 4.5 engine from 88 to 92. Early Northstars start leaking around 50K but by now most out there have been fixed

@chris younts repairs to the cars, travel and other incurred costs are considered expenses thus deductions. Life must be hard for people as dumb as you.

Sounds like a great deal for both of you! Though if I were you Tyler I’d add one thing for Wizard to do Put the same kind of exhaust the red one has onto the white one I’m still blown away how damn good that red Allante sounds! A 26 year old worn out Cadillac that sounds better than pretty much any modern Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger Car makers take notes on exhaust tuning from this lol

Should have just kept the Chrysler. That was guaranteed to continue to rise in value.

@@BingBongYourLife I know Hoovie's in business for entertainment but it's still silly to trade a classic Imperial convertible for a Hostess twinkie and a ding-dong. I'm saying this as a real car guy, not someone who follows Hoovie for "entertainment"..... only people who aren't serious about cars would do such a thing.

Joe Agreed. The Imperial is a timeless classic!!! The Allantes are crap

I’m not gatekeeping, it’s just stupid to trade a bonafide classic for cars that aren’t. I know Tyler is trying to be funny.

As long as the Imperial goes to a good home where it’s caretaker cares about it, that is what is important.

Same like my 1995 1.3L Daihatsu Charade "Winner".. Cosmetically nice, interior very mints...yes steering is cracking but its all pristine.. But the moving part is just junk..power steering hi pressure hose is leaking and cracking, Cooling still not optimal even I've been fixing the fan and radiator..which affect the ac blowing less cool air now.. The alternator is still not giving a stable voltage after full rebuild.. Shocks need replace 4ofthem.. Tie rod and ball joint all of them shots Soft and deep brake pedals Worn out clutch and leaking transmission and oil pan and also the crankshaft seal is leaking.. My radiator water keeps losing its water every week even though no leaking sign.. Fuel smell very bad inside the car every startup and fill up.. Most indicator gauges not working except fuel and speedometer.. But the engine is running great....

I love how he threw in the $2500 oil pan repair at the end to make it sound like it was worth giving up the other Allante. Hes such a sucker!

I know flipping hoopties is the bread and butter of this channel, but there's no way I'd have let that Imperial go.

In 2012 I toured the GM Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit, where they were making the Volt (among other GM cars) at the time. They showed us an empty area in the back where they had once stored the Allante bodies that were imported from Italy. The tour guide sounded very proud they had once assembled the Cadillac Allante in this same factory. I think Hamtramck is now shut down, not sure.
