Here's How I built it - 1/24 scale Porsche (Tamiya)

Really cool build - I'd suggest some panel line accents or similar at the end to give the panels a little more depth, but that's really minor overall. Lovely work!

A tip to you,buy yourself a bottle of 1000 bb's and drop 4 in each paint bottle that you own, this will save you paint and time, nice build

A BB is a plastic pellet used in BB guns, as a toy gun projectile

@@thomasf1152 hello, you will want the metal bb's. Not the plastic. Place 2-4 metal bb's in a jar of paint. Re-install cover and gently shake paint bottle. Bb's will mix paint for you. The same method is used in spray paint cans.

Don't use copper BB's, they will ruin your paint.

Do you have any advice on what to paint on the “spruce” and what to paint cut off of it?

I would recommend you keep all the smaller parts on the spruce, and keep any exterior surfaces off the spruce so you don't get patches of paint.

Hi! I'm by no means the expert considering this was only my 2nd model, I used humbrol, createx colours acrylics, zero paints and revell precision poly cement & PVA for glue. As for choosing colours I followed the instructions mostly but made some of it up as I desired. ( There are charts to convert humbrol to revel colours etc). I also used 'flocking' for texture and micro set and sol for the decals (in the past I've used warm water with a little PVA) - can't go back now I've tried the stuff! Why did you remove the chrome? Otherwise paint won't stick?

Yeah, paint won't stick as well. The chrome also smoothes off all the details in the wheel that painting didn't - also the Porsche had gold accents on the wheel that I couldn't paint on top of the chrome.

I can't remember to be honest but I think it was light grey, I would recommend a light grey so you can see the imperfections before putting on the colour.
