Fruity was real. Also, hearing you talk about CRTs as if they were some kind of ancient and arcane alien artifact gave me a tiny existential crisis. I also get one of those every time I remember that the 90s were in fact not just 10 years ago.

Great video, I love these strange deep dives looks into games. Hope you know we'll wait for as it you need to complete it in the way you want it. Looking forward what ever comes next. Also inspires me to try to make stuff too, running into the same problems too real life sucks...anyways I'm rambling so buh bye!

Fruity is real. Firstly I too played croc and gex on the original play station, those were days, who knows where I'd be if I had encountered FF8 at such a formative age. Secound creation and expression can be very rewarding my main trouble is after making something I want to show it off, then most people are supportive and find something about my work to compliment, compliments make me uncomfortable, this negative loop hasn't stopped me from making things or showing them off. Not yet anyway. Three, there are many words to describe your attention situation, some of those words come with life long subscriptions to medications that you will be assured are absolutely necessary... according to the man selling the pills. Use your own judgment and stay safe. Four. I came hear for the deeply strange, horny, and oddly fever dream like XCOM mod. I subscribed for the unapologetically human fruity. You do what you want and I'll put eyes on it.

I do have more Xcom mod recorded and a partial script. I've been all over the place recently but that was my favorite of the series I was doing (because it was closest to this mess). It's definitely still on the backburner. I've actually got a ton of half finished projects that were bothering me but this one took over and I loved making it. I do get nervous that people who aren't in the gang and don't understand my weird nonsense will stumble in when I do one of these but I also feel like hitting the publish button is part of the process and needs to happen. Video isn't real until people can see it. I don't know what stuff you're making but surely you could just tell people not to complement you if it makes you that uncomfortable that you feel like it's a spiral? Its an odd request I guess but I'm sure folk would understand. I do personally like complements though, so thanks for being lovely :P As for attention situation I have had a really bad experience with antidepressants which makes me very nervous to try any sort of medication again. Right now I just feel like the brain gremlins aren't hurting anyone and I can even lean into it when hobbying, go to new weird places and make even stranger nonsense. FF8 was one of my main things as a baby! My best friend also played it so we'd mime swordfights on the playground and he'd lie to me about the video game.

The thing about complements is, if I had to guess, a form of imposter syndrome. Small complements are fine but once people start being generous with their words then I start feeling like I'm being played to and begin worrying where this is going. I know my work has flaws and everyone can see them but hear they go saying more and more nice things. My brain is broken and simply will not except that this is a complement with no strings attached. Most of my friends are kind enough to limit the number of nice things said at a time, but I appreciate your concern and feedback and don't worry I don't have a job where people give me complements very frequently.

I played FF8 for the first time just a couple of years ago, and I bounced off it hard because the systems were basically the only part of the game I liked. Drawing, junctions, GFs, transmogging items: cool. However, the story is abject nonsense, as you say, and I didn't particularly like any of the characters. I stuck it out till the end out of principle, but I think I'll never play this game again.

Also, I'm here for whatever and I like your idiosyncratic offerings such as this, but will still be a trifle disappointed if e.g. no more Crab-Com or Files is (are) forthcoming.

Yeah the characters are all weird children and the only one who gets a lot of characterisation is Squall, who is deeply unlikable. It's also got the FFX thing going on where it keeps illuding to a much more fun-sounding adventure that already happened with Laguna's gang - Laguna is so much more compelling than Squall I wish it was his game. The situations just keep getting weirder and weirder though, I think if you make it past the orphanage reveal and into the space part you've kind of passed the point where it makes sense to quit and you're along for the ride. :P
