It's called "High tin" or Speculum metal and how to make it is NOT a secret . Making high luster metal mirrors from Bronze-type high tin alloys dates back nearly 2,000 years in China and was almost certainly used by the middle age europeans. All you do is Melt 66.67% (or 2 parts)Copper to 33.37% (or 1 part) tin to create the alloy. Some had small amounts of Silver, lead, zin or even arsenic in them as well. You then use a type of oil to polish it to a high shine. It's not exactly hard to do, it just takes a lot of time because the resulting alloy is very brittle. It has been used for centuries and NOT just in india. It was used in the telescope of Issac Newton and William Herschel to discover the planet Uranus. The metal was much too brittle to be forged, but works well when cast. So It was also used during the middle ages to create belt buckles, brooches and other small items, giving them an attractive silver white color. Mirrors made with this metal were confusingly enough referred to as "steel mirrors". But the metal is prone to tarnishing and requires frequent polishing
