very cool. Interesting. I did a similar project in the same time as you. I swaped E91 , N54 , St 6262bb speedtech, 6mt twin disk, meth, and all the ''while Im there'', and not that far , I'm on 16k-ish $ cad with the 2 cars (donor and receiver). This include the shit ton of parts sold as part outs. 600bhp, wagon, AWD, 6mt = not bad of a deal. It was a fun project.

sounds like an amazing build!! you're right, at first I was apprehensive about the 1 series, didn't like the front end, headlights, etc. loved my e90 but regrettably sold it. This was the same color and I wanted to save it from the scrap yard, I had to do it justice. now, I couldn't imagine ever parting with it. these cars are awesome, better yet with a story.

Awesome! You are like me. I love to mod, but I’m always listing my older parts. I’ll even find things around my home that I don’t use anymore, and list those so that I can find my car modding habit. I do have a couple questions though: What about the tuning costs? Do you do the tuning yourself as well?
@tony.nextlevelrides5 ай бұрын
the tuning is just a free back end flash through MHD using the JB4 and dialing inthe boost. I do it myself but if I go with a proper tune it'll definitely come at a cost.

you know, I've heard it said both ways and never really paid attention to which is correct. since the letters are generally all capitalized, I just stuck with saying "OH EN THREE".

i like the sleeper build look for these cars, where it just looks FBO, and everything else looks stock.. although right now mines doen a little nickel and dime-ing with random stuff. mostly tail lights i had to buy after body work, cause pretty sure body guy stole my good bulbs. and a regulator for rear door window. i also need to get a 12x1.5 helicoil thread repair kit for rear knuckle from when i did the M3 upper arm conversion. was able to do initial torque, but anything past it just spins so got a new bolt and now just need a helicoil, ( if helicoil doesn't work, new dorman loaded knuckle for 600 from Oreilly's) then it's back to tracing down this damn oil leak, putting in my polyurethane trans mounts, and maybe a poly large rear rear diff bushing and M3 diff bushings combo, M3 rear sub frame bushings. some down pipes, and then finally, maybe some turbos..
@tony.nextlevelrides4 ай бұрын
sounds like a wicked build! I would personally add a rear diff. brace to the list of future install items!

Did i missed it ? Did you do anything suspension and brake wise ? If so 700hp on the stock rear E82 suspension. Damnnn
@tony.nextlevelrides5 ай бұрын
granted, it is the M Sport / M Performance suspension and better than the base stuff you get. Brakes have the large Brembo 6 pots front, 4 pot rear with slotted discs. it'll be fine for now, I do plan to lower it on coils eventually and do stainless lines.
@Zinbou15 ай бұрын
@@tony.nextlevelrides Yeah yeah, but the 6 pot from the 135i and 1m are know to have piston issue when expose to too much heat (F30 brake are a good cheap OEM upgrade) And the rear end is know to be pretty soft/siggly. Great vid tho (from a new sub)

the intention was a very oem-like vehicle with tons of power on tsp. part of me wishes it was a 6MT, the other part is extremely satisfied with the 8hp. may be adding a clutch pedal and sequential style shifter. :)
