Larcon Pritzle it isn't, but we're talking about a street car. 400 HP on 4 cylinders generates more heat, than it would on 6, 8, 10, or even 12. The more energy the engine can produce, the more weight is added for the cooling system. Easy example: Take full blown drag "cars", they ruin the engine in a matter of less than 10 seconds. On top of that: electric motors have no impact on the moving parts of the combustion engine. We could argue if drag is even actual racing for all I care, but that isn't what I'm aiming for. Electric motors are rather support units, than actual racing stuff for now. Yeah, I know, Formular E, Tesla, and all that, but there is an issue with all of them, which will be fixed eventually: Unlike gas powered cars, recharging a battery takes a shitload of time. Another issue (which we actually only like because it's cool or whatever) would be sound.

Okay let's see, the porsche 911 Gt2 RS has 515 kW (700 hp) from a biturbo flat-six engine while the Huracan Performante has 640 horsepower and no turbos and was able to defeat the 918 with a thousand horsepower and turbos as well. I am Porsche but the Performante really did good of owning the track without using a lot. Still respect to that baby Lambo!!!

Just because this exact car did it in a record car doesn't mean all the cars they sell from this model will set the same record. Unless each car is taken to the track, with verification videos provided to customer, given a special badge then shipped off to the customer. For that price, they should offer that.

I think McLaren is working HARD right now on their 750LT (probably called), since the 720S is not designed to be a track car. Imagine a 720S with less weight, more Power/Torque, more Aero and even better suspension setup... That is going to be interesting ;)

Nick Tatu the Nürburgring is a tricky track tho. Beautiful, but the weather is unpredictable. It can change from a beautiful blue sky to a grey shitload of rain, lightning, thunder, hail and all the shit you don't want in a matter of less than 5 minutes. Trackdays can be frustrating as well as they can be awesome

Honestly, if the Huracan made 700 horsepower like the GT2 RS, it would be just as fast. A 5 second advantage on the Nurburgring is practically nothing anyway, unless the cars were tested back to back on the same day, it's really not a terribly accurate comparison. Not to mention there is no regulating body for these lap times (meaning manufacturers can cheat lap times easily). This is why tests by automotive journalists (like Motor Trend's best driver car, or Road and Track's lightning lap) are a better indicator of comparison, because it's same day, same conditions, same driver. NOT taking anything away from Porsche. Very happy to finally see a Porsche with proper power!
