The best affordable trailer IMO is the one you don't own. Been there, done that, its way cheaper in the long run for most people to just rent a trailer from UHaul. That way you always have the right trailer for the job, covered when you need it, open when you don't, smaller or bigger, etc. and no need to store it 24x7x365.

I agree. I have a paid off Tahoe and was about to buy a truck to haul stuff for the house but instead just rent a trailer when I need to bring big items home. And banging and scratching a uhaul trailer is better than scratching a new truck.

One of the big advantages to the fold-up ramps that wasn't mentioned is the help prevent the trailer tongue from lifting the rear of the tow vehicle. If you happen to be on a slope when loading/unloading, it could cause the vehicle to loose traction and move along with the trailer. So always chock the wheels in that situation and try to support the rear of the trailer with a jackstand or block when using ramps like this.

Nice trailer, looks like it is built very well. I was thinking as Andre mentioned rust etc. and couldn't help but think that not everything is 'maintenance free' so we do have to learn that somethings do need to be cleaned and maintained these days. A trailer needs service too,..wheel bearings and brakes, wiring etc. all need periodic attention. So when we buy a trailer, we have to keep this in mind. I make it a point to 'schedule' full service at least once a year for my trailer, and after a long trip and especially if it's been subjected to salt and sand in winter driving, I get out my pressure washer and clean off the vital spots,..or you can always take your empty trailer out for a good run on a rainy day ( poor man's pressure washer right there! LOL )

If you are just hauling SxS's, ATVs, or dirt bikes, I would recomend the Echo Trailers. Super compact and extremely light weight but still very strong. They are also relatively compact and have either a tailgate or some ramps that you can use on the rear and sides.Mine is an absolute beast with no issues at all with owning it about 2 years now. The only issues I might have is the tailgate, wish it was longer as it can hang up even my RZR RS1 if I do not put wood blocks under the tailgate

Also they have ramps that fold all the way down & up until they are flat. Deleting the dove tail so you can carry longer items (in my case 24' sheet metal with only 4' hanging off)

Place an old set of rubber floor mats on top of the ramps just before you close the door. That should help with the noise and the paint rubbing

Just clad the storage slot with cloth/ felt or rubber. Spray on glue and a scissor and your set. Less rattle.

Definitely tilt is the way to go, loading and unloading is so easy. It's not that steep those guys are very silly to be scared

18FT or shorter for parking spots. I would not have thought about that. As for the tilt trailer, sorry Andre, I would not pick one in your line of work because.. what if the vehicle was not drivable? Hard to push or pull a vehicle UP a tilt trailer. While they are good for those with light weight vehicles that hate ramps or noise of rattling ramps, it just is not practical for TFL. :) Very informative, cool review. Stop it! lol Makes me want 1. :P

You guys need to get a better way to tie down stuff, that is so bad on the suspension. Invest in some tire tie downs!

Yeah, that is 100 percent the wrong way to tie down a razor. The suspension moves and the tie downs can become loose as a result. Always tie down from the tire or as close to the tire as you can on the A frame.

I work for a trailer dealer that used to sell Iron Bull trailers. They do not stand behind their product and rarely honored their warranties on them.
