I really enjoy this channel. I have my late father's Mercedes E280 Saloon. I'd love to take it to Mike the Magician to sort out some minor paint and a buff. Maybe an alloy refurb. I also have his old Bentley Eight. Only 37,000 miles from new (1989). My modern in a 12,500 mile 2021 V90 VOLVO. Mint.

I would use the SORN system to cut some of the costs - even 3 months at a time on some of them. The AMG cars should be SORN over the winter to protect them from the salt. It is a great collection but a lot of money tied up - but you work hard so enjoy it.

Put the plastic hexagonal hard standing down in your front garden. The grass will grow through and visually look the same but will take cars if/when necessary.

The green Range Rover, put the key in the drivers lock. Next turn the key full left holding the lock button and count your 10 then release. From there if the battery is ok then the remote should work.

Great looking driveway, Matt. That bit of grass alongside the garage - oooh, that looks ripe for a nice garage extension. You could turn it into a triple garage, with plenty of room for getting in & out your cars, control the humidity in there, insulate it, make it fully vermin-proof and then you'll need another car to fill the extra space! Garage space is a premium for our lifestyles and climate in the UK, so I'd see it as a worthwhile addition to your property. Pop a little home office on the first floor and you might even be able to offset some of it against your tax liability. Really cool video. Thanks Matt 👍

I am in Canada so the product name may be different over in your part of the world…Downy fabric softener sheets, the ones that you put in the dryer when drying clothes . Hi Matt, I have two very helpful and one presumptuous suggestion for you. Thanks for the tour of your garage. You may want to put bumper strips on the walls of your garage ASAP to avoid any scratches. Second, we have a product here in the US which looks like a plastic grid which you put into the top of your lawn. It will allow you to drive on the lawn even when wet but still allow you to have a green space. My very presumptuous suggestion? Why not sell off both Mercs & buy a newer one with modern electronics. That way you'll have the best of both worlds and perhaps money left over. Disclaimer: I am American so cannot totally escape being presumptuous. 😂 Cheers, from New England

Regarding the key problem on your 2006 Range Rover, I had the same problem on mine, all it needed was the key re-syncing to the car, it's been fine since

Hi Matt. A suggestion for you, if you have still have the problem with the central locking from your Range Rover. You can try to put the key in the ignition, put on the contact but not starting the car and press the locking button from the key. I had the same problem in the past with one of my cars, I did that and it worked. I think it's worth trying. It will not cost you anything and maybe the central locking system will come back to it's normal state.

Totally agree with you about people who don’t own Range Rovers or never driven one and there negativity, personally I wouldn’t drive anything else but Range Rover , I’ve got a standard 2006 Focus ST which I just use to travel work and back but our velar is hands down pure luxury , comfortable , and it will go anywhere , on any terrain in any weather .

Happens with absolutely everything. I own a few high-value Bremont & Omega gold watches...whenever I leave comments reflecting this, guaranteed someone wants me to slag them off in an attempt to ruin my day. Do like the double garage, ours was built early 80’s and has a post in middle which is annoying, plenty of space to walk down the middle but with the Fiesta ST’s massive doors I screwed an off cut of carpet on the wall to make getting in and out easier without scratching the edge of the door.

I bought a 2014 range rover autobiography 4.4 V8 diesel in 2015 from Guy Salmon in Knutsford. I kept it until just before Xmas 2023 and it has been the most comfortable car I have ever owned. I drove it through Europe many times and it's long distance comfort is amazing. £50k depreciation in just over 8 years wasn't too bad.

from 12 on the timing chains were upgraded fom 6mm to 8mm but more importantly the chain tensioners were replaced from aluminium to steel making them bullet proof , weak point is the coolant plastic pipes but now available in alloy form

I'm a '13 XKR owner laughing at your complaints - I agree with all of them. I have that bluetooth dongle as well, which truly made it an easy everyday car (well, besides the outdated infotainment screen). The air conditioned seats are a lifesaver in the brutal Arizona summer heat.

Hi Matt, I’m an expat living in Houston, TX with a 2012 RR Sport 5.0l supercharged. I’ve owned it for 6 years and love it. I average 15mpg, with rose tinted glasses on so you are doing well. However with old age it has become become eye wateringly expensive to keep running. So keeping them for ever is just not an option. With regards to road tax think of that per day, £700 is less than a couple of quid a day. Enjoy it.

I went to an Aston Martin day in Stamford some years ago and a chap had a DB7 vamped up with rotating plates and water pistols in the indicators. I will say that the Invery adapter is superb. I have a 2012 L322 (so it has the BMW 30-pin Apple adapter for audio), and the Invery adapter has been faultless.

Just a point on your X5 fuel economy matt. Had a lot of experience with these and poor economy is 9/10 down to the thermostats being stuck open. Change both of them and watch your economy recover.

Personally I prefer the coupe but hey it's not mine. The steal of the show for me though is that blue AMG. Such a stunning car. I have a 2005 Giverney Green TD6, Matt, with 212k on the clock and a similar thing happens with my radio on occasions Lol! The difference is though mine does not come back on without manual intervention. I have a personal mechanic at my local garage that regularly fixes things and as I write it is in the garage for a broken water pump etc as it failed yesterday. Regular maintenance etc is key but it will not prevent pieces breaking due to age, mileage and regular daily use. I am mindful of this but it is still annoying and frustrating when it happens. I just love the vehicle, warts and all, so have no plans to change at the moment, although I do find myself looking at Auto trader etc for petrol models of a similar age ( I must be mad!) lol! Great content as usual.

I am a big admirer and I also love cars, but I honestly couldn't have more than 2. I'd forget which has a valid inspection, good tires, battery etc. My ideal 2 car garage would be something like a BMW X5/Mercedes GLE/VW Touareg/Audi Q7 3.0 diesel for vacations and maybe a Toyota C-HR for around town.
