Quite frankly, as a lifelong rally fan of all of the characters and cars described, the best and most interesting interview I have had the fortune of listening to. Thankyou Mr Harris and Mr Grist for a beautifully frank, natural and revealing conversation.

Im 52 years old and I’ve wanted to be a rally driver from I’ve known myself. I followed rallying all my life until about 2 or 3 years ago when some difficulties in my personal life took my focus. This has got to be the best podcast/interview on the subject I’ve ever listened to and. Thank you Chris and Nicky. Phenomenal 🙏🏽

Bloody 'ell, what a class episode - just going to socially distance myself due to Coronollecting Cars symptoms. Nicky and Colin planted the Subaru seed for me and a Classic Turbo, P1, 22B and STi followed when I could afford it. Utter hero, thanks Nicky, Chris and Edward, for a guy in his late 40s, 'maximum attack' was the default and I hope I can speak for those of a similar mind.
@blackcygnus31774 жыл бұрын
Proper selection there. You keep your 22B?
@jep19124 жыл бұрын
@@blackcygnus3177 Sadly not, given today's values I should have but other priorities came along. I preferred the straight-piped P1 to drive of all of them. Live in Australia now and the car market here is utter crud. Did test-drive an Integrale Evo II prior to the 22B and it was the best handling car I've ever driven... but I didn't have the balls to take the plunge.

@Howard Hamlin I think you were either in the EVO camp or the Scooby. Never drove an EVO but would be interested if I could feel a difference after so many years.

I just want to echo the comments by many and the thoughts of, I'm sure, many more. This was a truly substantial podcast. I am incredibly thankful to you, Chris, for doing this - and even more so to Nicky for all the insights and stories he shared. The 3 hours flew by, and made me wish there were 3 more. Honestly remarkable. I wanted to hear everything. I am, I suppose, one of the fortunate people deemed to be "essential" (although I really only act as one minuscule piece of grit that cements the bricks together) and as a result am still working and being paid, but I looked forward to every moment I could get to listen to this podcast. I know not every guest can be this marvelous and conversational. I know you probably can't be bothered to do such long content every week. But I want you both to know, both you, Nicky and Edward, that this was truly special and appreciated. As is every one of your uploads.

Chris is wasted on Top Gear, I'm sure it more than pays the bills - but he has too much talent as a driver and a motoring journalist to be on that show.
@jep19124 жыл бұрын
Yep, agree, a lucrative gig and yet I think Goodwood and various other racing challenges might just be enough for him. It's safe to say that his lack of a dedicated KZbin journalistic presence is proving a very positive force amongst his fans in showing how much respect he's held in... and that if he were to start something it'd go off... like bonfire night.

Amazing. Woke up at 3am in post covid, can’t believe it’s been a mesmerising 3 and half hours. Very interesting first saw Colin in RAC in a battered 2wd Sierra. Then saw him every time in New Zealand, never understood his times in Motu stage NZ. I thought Subaru might have done something illegal, he was just so quick. (A min quicker than Kankunen). Having driven the stage only 2 years ago, I now understand with Nickys comments, it just suited Colins aggressive driving style. Loved the interview, and now have great respect for Nicky. Cheers
