Thanks for the detailed explanation of how it works, no apologies to those with “0” attention span. You sold me CC! Plug-ins are a great way to get great amp tones at less than 10% of the physical amp price. This Plugin is an unbelievable value for us that play in the home on a musical equipment budget.

Back in 1979, my Dad - who was a professional guitarist - got me my first guitar - a '79 Fender antigua Strat .. I was 10 ...This was at the Guitar Trader in Red Bank ( the birthplace of the Gibson Heritage 80 ) .. So a few months after getting the Strat, we went back, and as soon as we walked thru the door, Dave the owner says "oh no, are you back because of the paint cracking on the Strat ?" .. Apparently, the antigua Strats were cracking and the finish was coming off after only a few weeks .. At the time, mine was OK, but geesh, over the next few years, the finish started crazing and popping off .. I still have the guitar, with about half the finish off and the other half looking like Keith Richards' skin .. That's a VERY cook Strat Corey, and thanks for this vid .. ROCK ON

This plugin is one of the best amp plugins I've ever used. I've secretly used it on every video I've made since I bought it, usually complimenting the tone recorded from one of my Kemper profiles. One of the only amp sim plugins I've ever used where I don't hear the "gaps" between the plugin and what I'd expect to hear from a recorded amp.

I tried the demo of this and the Milkman after watching this awesome video. The gain staging on the Two-Rock is awkward. Had a hard time getting that right. The cabinet/mic options are really well done. Anyway, the UA Dream, Lion, Ruby native (and Fender '55) sims all sounded significantly more "real" and better (of course different) to me in comparison. Comparitively "thin" or "distant" are descriptors that come to mind for these MixWave plugs.

I have to say, I sure as heck couldn't come close to getting those tones with it. I get it, you are better than me at playing, but I had all kinds of problems with this. First, gain staging. It was impossible to get it tame and I do NOT have that problem with anything I use or have tried in years. Second, no matter what setting, it was really brittle. Third, it did not take any of my pedals or any other form of gain in front w/o buzzy tones like older amp sims. Forth, as usual, it had bugs. You could not use it at lower buffer settings. @64, dropouts. At 32 it was just noise and no real signal. They said they were aware of the issue but during the demo, they never fixed it. The standalone didn't have this problem. Don't misunderstand me, you peeps seem to be doing really well with it and that is great. I just personally could not get on with it.

@@coreycongilio I'm in an apartment, that is a no-go. I've tried a bunch of stuff like the IR-D and it's more trouble than it's worth for what is essentially a one-trick-pony. Nice that you are in that position though, much envy.

@@chrisharbin623try the Mixwave Benson Chimera collection. Great tones off the bat and doesn’t take as much tweaking since it’s not a super high headroom amp. I have both and I’m still working on getting the two rock to my liking.

Thanks for the video. This was super helpful. I can see that your input on the plugin is really low. Is that because you cranked the gain on your audio interface ? There is so much out there on how to dial in the gain (audio interface ) and input (plugin). Can you share how you dialed this in ?
@clapton10622 ай бұрын
Thank you for the nice video! And I am also wondering how to apply this interface into recording software? I have tried using it but the nice two rock interface doesn’t show inside the recording interface, anyway to do it in a good way? Thanks in advance! Really great sound and the presets!

Corey your thoughts on plug ins vs captures ?
@coreycongilio2 ай бұрын
Depends on if the plugin was using IRS or modeling. If I have to use digital I prefer something that is modeling as opposed to captures via IRs

It won’t show up as a unison plugin. You have to put it in insert. You will have to turn off the ARM button on the far left of the mix window. You may also need to change your buffer size too. You can find that on the bottom of the screen. You might need to raise or lower it depending on where you have it set.

@coreycongilioАй бұрын
Who said I prefer modelers? I sure didn’t.. This video is solely about explaining the plug in. I use amps 99.9% of the time. Pretty obvious if you’ve ever seen a live clip of me or you may have noticed the multiple amps in the video. My channel is about teaching whether it’s music or gear hence the tutorial. Many of my viewers enjoy my explanations and since I own the real amp I decided to teach about the plug in version…which I mention in the video
