Can you make this same clip with the camera on the horse with you and do it twice once in each direction .. it is sort of difficult to see/feel what to do look at you vs being on the horse with you. TIA

I work at a barn and one of the ponies there would pull back in the cross ties. He is not scared or anything he just wants to escape to get grass and food. He starts by shaking his head then backs up and puts his head up and is able to get his whole halter off. How would someone fix this issue? Or how would you go about fixing this?

I’ve worked many hours using your techniques on a 16 yr old barrel horse trying to get him to pick up the lead I want to no avail! He wait until the last second to switch. And when I’m just doing my dry work off the pattern I still can’t get him to take the lead I ask. Help from Oregon.

I use poles or something to make it more apparent that i want something the second i apply the aid. If it's not working you have to go through what happens when you do something and how the horse reacts and what is it that they don't understand and what makes him/her finally get it and then you work kinda backwards. So what was it that he/she responded to and how can you make it more clear that you want it at a certain point and how will you set up the practice so that he/she will understand it and so on. You need to find the issue and understand what ur doing wrong and what he/she understands and then work on that cue and use helping tools to make it more clear. Don't get frustrated. Just focus on what ur doing and what he/she might be acting on and then put those together to communicate it more clearly.
