QUESTION OF THE DAY: What brad nailer are you currently using and are you ready to make an upgrade? Let me know in the comments.

I have the M18 version but really like how compact this guy is!

Just saw this on Tool Show and had to check it out. I have the M18 framing nailer and fence stapler but sometimes you just need something small and compact. Glad to see this in M12.

That's cool, this really is nice and compact!

Mark Thomas! I believe You really nailed it on this one! I know, geez, there’s a flippin’ comedian in every crowd! 😆 This M12 Brad nailer is appealing to me. I do like the M12 lineup, and have a few M12 tools. I have not yet switched over to ‘cordless’ Pneumatics. I get by with my Senco 18 gauge brad nailer just fine. I did not like it at first, but it is fast, powerful, and good quality, even though it is one of the China made ones. It is red in color, and has the little amber light on it, which I have used a few times, and it helped! Like You, if I need something longer than 1&3/4 I reach for my trusty old, Made in USA, Senco angled finish nailer. I’ve had that thing for 20+ years now. I will keep it as long as I am alive. I will sometimes pull out my Hitachi finish nailer, but that old Senco is so satisfying to use. I dont do enough these days to justify going with cordless, but I sure wouldn’t mind not dealing with the hose and compressor! Have a great weekend Mark. We are recovering from 6-7 inches of rain ( Hurricane Debby remnants) here in the East. My well is happy though, not to mention my grass!

Hey George! Haha, glad to hear I nailed this review! What's interesting is that I own several Senco nailer, but never tried their 18ga. I bought a Craftsman starting out, then picked up a Porter Cable, which I still have today. One of my favorite nailers of all time is my Senco 15ga angled finish nailer that's probably over 20+ years old as well. Hope you make it through all the heavy rain without issues. I saw the weather forecast showing that it's moving through NY tomorrow.

I currently have a Makita air brad nailer that I had for forever. I also have a Bostich air nailer and they both do the job. I would like a cordless one, but can't justify it with myself when the stuff I have works well. I have Makita 18V and Bosch 12V tools so going to a different platform for one nailer is even harder to justify. That Milwaukee looks great though and it would be on the contender list.

My favorite part is when you run your hand under the wood to make sure you're not nailing it to the table. I've used an old porter cable (2016) and really want a cordless. Put about 5000 nails a week through it. Gonna try this piece. Getting tired of hoses.
@MarkThomasBuilder4 ай бұрын
I also have an old pneumatic Porter Cable and it's been a good to me. I like the size & weight of this Milwaukee one and not having to drag a hose around. I didn't think about trying a larger M12 battery, like the 4Ah or 6Ah. I may have to make a shorts video today if I notice a difference in performance.

I have this and it’s a fantastic little nailer. I’ve been installing wall moulding and this has worked perfectly and oh so convenient to handle. I have the 15GA M18 nailer for heavier work.

That's cool, the combo setup you have is what I prefer as well.

Well, next purchase is gonna be this M12 Brad nailer. Ive had my Ridgid 18ga nailer for years, it’s been an awesome gun and I’ve zero issues with even after tens of thousands Brad nails ranging from ¾ to 2”. My issue is that my 6gal compressor is constantly working and a lot of the times it startles me 😂 (I get startled over any loud and sudden noises) and the hose….i can’t stand it. I have a lot invested in the Milwaukee M12/M18 line. I love the M12 fuel line for detail work as they are compact and light but has just enough power to do anything. I really don’t mind that the m12 only takes up to 1-½” nails cause there really isn’t a situation where I needed longer than that anyways (I’ve used 2” in a pinch when I ran out of other sizes)
@MarkThomasBuilder4 ай бұрын
Yeah, those compressors can definitely make you jump. Several years ago I upgraded to an Emglo compressor because it's much quieter. Now that I've mostly switched over to battery powered nailers, the compressor gets very little use.

markthomasbuilder.. I just recently bought some air nailers and love them but I wish I would've seen this video first. I decided on air because I wasn't how good or reliable the cordless ones were. I will be getting that one for sure. Thanks for sharing this.

Glad you found this helpful. I have to say that it's nice not having to bring an air compressor along.

This is awesome, the m18 was a bit heavier and pricier. I think this one is a great idea for smaller projects
@MarkThomasBuilder4 ай бұрын
Hey Michael! Thanks, I'm excited how well this works for it's size. I should try running a 5Ah or 6Ah, just to see if I notice any differences over the 2Ah I've been using.
@michaelholly884 ай бұрын
@@MarkThomasBuilder that’s a good idea too. The 5ah ho I’d like to get one. I have the 2.5ho

I have the Milwaukee M18 Brad Nailer and i love it! It would ve nice to have a more compact version. I would probably buy a 15 or 16 gauge finish nailer before getting this. If i had to buy one finish nailer, which gauge would you recommend i buy?
@MarkThomasBuilder4 ай бұрын
I use the 18 gauge the most and after that, I'd go with the 15ga. I've built a lot of things with the 15. The nails have good holding power. Many like the 16 as well, but I find the 15 a little more versatile.

I actually just picked up this nailer for under retailer. How do you think it’ll do for residential cabinetry work?
@MarkThomasBuilder4 ай бұрын
I think it will work very well for that.
@yinglouie96634 ай бұрын
I have that nailer, plus l have Rigid's 18v version. I like Milwaukee small size plus i have a SUV vehicle so having smaller i can carry more tools. My friend usrd mine and had some jams, but so gar l never had any. In the end sure beats Dewalt's monster size brad nailer!

Maybe it's me but my M18 nailer won't fire at an angle. If I am reaching or trying to twist a little to get a nail in it won't fire. My pneumatic will fire at any angle. Sometimes I just need to work in at an angle and get a shot in. It is pretty frustrating that it won't do it. Maybe it is just me so let me know....but I couldn't get the m18 to fire when not at a 90.
@chadfallon33783 ай бұрын
Hey @elmarty4803, I have the gun and I can use it at an angle. Depending on the angle it can be hard to push the tip in to fire the nail
@elmarty48033 ай бұрын
@@chadfallon3378 I will have to keep messing with it but the other week I was putting in trim pieces and it just wouldn’t do it. Maybe I wasn’t getting the tip al the way down…dunno. Thanks for letting me know it should!
