as much as these day time reviews are great. How is it no one thinks about doing ones for night time? Let people see how the vehicle looks at night. How it lights up in front of the driver and how the interior lights up ie: dash and instrumentation. Just a thought.

Either those tires are too big or the rims are just too small making for an awkward look. I wish Acura had left the SH-AWD on this vehicle, such an amazing system. Pano roof would be nice. Tail pipes that are hidden is a stupid omission. I do like the amount of standard features and the styling of this vehicle. I would prefer a Lexus NX 200t F-Sport or Tiguan R Line. Great review as always Dave!

+Anthony Cuda Just why people care about AWD? Better traction? I owned so many front-wheel drive cars and now I have AWD RDX. I don't care about it one bit and would rather get a front-wheel drive.

+stanuwmad You must not live in a snowy and hill filled area. Yes front wheel drives can get around with proper tires, I just found it easier with the AWD.

+Luke Hoisington I have 2014 RDX with that interior color. It looks sweet. I got all-weather mats and so far no complains. The only one I can point is clothing dye sticks to the driver's seat. Otherwise if you don't haul bicycles inside you will be fine.

+Alexandwillsmom Here's my feedback on a 2014 RDX AWD Base - Transmission slippage occurred at approx. 34,000 miles (Jan. 2016). I had to bring it in to the local Acura dealership twice: 1st time, transmission flush to see if issue will be addressed (it did not); 2nd time was a 2-day diagnostic that resulted (on the last test-drive of all things) with the transmission being replaced. Thank gosh for long warranties on Acuras or I'd've been eating it all. The dealership also warranty-replace the rear shocks due to the thumping noise whenever you hit a depression in the road (e.g., manhole covers). The transmission replacement is a re-manufactured unit, so it's not new. The car certainly drives smoothly now, but I wonder how long that'll last. I'll wait to see what happens up till the 60,000 warranty. If problem recurs before then, I'll get it repaired through warranty and trade it in. Quite disappointing in a "premium vehicle" that is never driven hard and regularly serviced. I know that this review is for a 2016, but the transmission and suspension were not altered from the 2014. Though my car now drives better after the repairs, I'm very ambivalent in recommending the RDX to others. Hopefully you've been able to research more than I have and have found something reliable. Seriously speaking, the Lexus NX may be where I go next.

Endurance Sports & Fitness Seriously disappointing. Can you state which brands specifically? Provided you don't return them damaged, I'd say that's a testament of how shady those brands are. Knowing how well they do at their limits, even if the average user never brings them to those limits matters immensely as it exposes their "SUV'ness", or lack there of. Your snowy offroad review of the 2015 CRV played a *major role* in my recent purchase of my 2015 CRV - I thought it did quite well being a more road oriented SUV. Honda should know that. With that, I hope Honda wasn't one of them...

Having been with Honda for 17 years, it was time for an upgrade and we went and test drove the 2016 RDX. Sadly, we went away quite disappointed. From a rough shifting transmission, an unrefined sounding engine, poor ride quality, STILL louder than it should be road noise, the irritating two tiered screen system and average at best interior materials, we just couldn't justify the asking price for it having these issues. Went and test drove a Subaru Outback, and was amazed by the difference between the two vehicles and at a much lower price. Needless to say, I've left Honda, and now own a Subaru.

Cambridge49506 I doubt if Subaru has nice interior as reviews showed that Subaru's interiors are dated now.
@PonseyScheme9 жыл бұрын
I actually was going between this and Outback 3.6R. it was a very tough decision. in the end, and from reading on forums, the quality of the Honda/Acura products have better quality parts and in my opinion better fit and finish. Overall, I don't think Subaru is bad any means, but I favor the quality better on a Honda.
@00_UU9 жыл бұрын
+Cambridge49506 *jaw dropping* Subaru is better than Acura? That's insane. RDX is amazingly silent inside, almost too silent and reminds me of a boring Lexus. Engine sounds smooth and very refined, almost too smooth for me as a previous Honda owner. Transmission is a little rough, but it works great. Material quality is wonderful, way better than Honda. If price isn't right, buy Certified 2016. I researched all possible cars and 2016 RDX/2016MDX are always best value for the buck.

***** I think the RDX competes against the Lexus RX350 not the NX.
@00_UU9 жыл бұрын
+Emilio Torres RDX would compete with RX300 if it was still available. MDX competes with RX350 and RDX competes with NX. However, Acura is a better choise then Lexus - RDX is much better value than NX and bigger inside. MDX is bigger inside than RX and also has a better value. Not to mention, Acura's are way more fun to drive than Lexus.
@emiliotorres29889 жыл бұрын
stanuwmad RX300 is the same car as the RX350 just different engine (3.0 V6 - 3.5 V6). MDX is a 7 seater and a huge size difference too therefore, it doesn't compete with the RX and speaking of value, the RX is the top selling luxury SUV and is the one who created the luxury SUV segment. Also Acura doesn't have the luxury/premium feel and features that Lexus has hence, the price difference.
@00_UU9 жыл бұрын
+Emilio Torres How much would you spend to get a 7-seat Lexus SUV? MDX costs about the same as RX, but gives much more for your money. Acura gives you entry-level luxury, which is enough for many people, including me. I don't know what kind of "luxury feel" has to be there. I agree that RX is a nice car and Lexus is more sophisticated than Acura in general. But if you want "true luxury" you have to get a Mercedes GLE or Porsche Caynne/Macan. But then some people will argue that "true luxury" is Bentley Bentayga and Mercedes doesn't have the luxury/premium feel.
@emiliotorres29889 жыл бұрын
stanuwmad The 7-seater Lexus costs more but it includes more features (i.e. off roading 4x4 capabilities) that MDX doesn't offer (talking about Lexus GX) MDX to me looks like a rebadged Honda Pilot and if you ask me, I would rather get the Pilot over the MDX. Gives you more room, seats 8 and is a lot cheaper. There's a big argument with the term "luxury" I agree but as far as I'm concerned, Acura competes with Lexus, Benz, BMW, Infinity (to name a few) and with those brands (not so much because of price with Bentley, Porsche, Jaguar to name a few), Acura doesn't come close to a premium feel with the competitors.
