Here's the trick to achieve 41 in mixed driving that includes what some might call "hilly terrain": exclusive normal mode; no more than 20% on the power output gauge; climate controls to "AUTO", "DRIVER ONLY", and "ECO", and no sitting for extended periods with the ignition on (what might normally be called "idling" in a non-hybrid vehicle). On the surface, at least to me, activating eco-mode abates the drivers throttle inputs by about 30-40% (and most likely does a few other things underneath). Oddly enough the power output gauge seems to rise in direct correlation with throttle input no matter what mode you're in. For example, in eco-mode, pushing the gas about one third of the way down produces a certain "get up and go" feeling-not that fast. By contrast, in normal mode, pushing the gas one third down produces a spirited "Get up and go" feeling - although in both scenarios the power output gauge reads the same- 30%. While i'm talking about gauges, has anyone noticed that the digital speed read out is always 1 to 3 mph slower than the analog speed readout? If you set your cruise on 70 according to the needle, the digital readout actually shows you're going 67. I wonder which one the odometer goes off of? Might be worth investigating...

Mine is 1 mph slower and it reads the same as my Tomtom which, in turn ,agrees with the state construction radar readout.

Nancy Garcia good love it but when it breaks down it cost arm and leg most parts are very high . Just replace A.C. compressor cost around 2100 hundred dollars

I wonder if Hyundai projection is based off flat terrain? I drove the 2013 Sonata Hybrid for two weeks while my 2011 was in the shop. I averaged between 39-41 traveling back in forth to work (12 miles away, flat terrain, mostly highway). My 2011 averaged around 33-35. I've since upgraded to the 2015 Sante Fe! I average around 28 in the summer, about 23-25 now when it's colder and the AWD automatically kicks in under 40.

🤪😢Just got the Diagnosis for my “ 2014 Sonata Hybrid Limited” with these Fault Codes,....Guess WHAT ?? I NEED A NEW COMPUTER !!! $4,500 !!!! Plus Labor...OUCH !!! I’m just under the 60,000 mile Limit on the warranty so I’m “Just” covered,....Lucky I Guess, but not HAPPY with HYUNDAI !!! Anyone else have to Go thru this,...& If So, @ How many Miles ???😔
