Exactly, I think most looking for a hybrid, want the rear space of a hatchback, I'm so annoyed by stupid small sedan trunks, looks like a great car, bummed about this key missing feature.
@RideAlongside6 жыл бұрын
@@AnatoleBranch I have fit an entire mountain bike in the trunk of a mid size sedan before. I had to take both wheels off or lower the seatbacks, but still, I love that it is secure and nobody ever knows what is in there except me.
@AnatoleBranch6 жыл бұрын
Yeah but with a hatchback you just drop the seat and put the bike in whole, can cover the hatch part as well as they have retractable covers. Had very frustrating time in US - home depot, and not being able to fix big box items, anything remotely taller than about 24". coming from Europe, where hatch is the norm, and can fill the back of a small car top to bottom with stuff. A small very compact car there has more storage room than a midsize sedan here! especially if the back is squared off, and not streamlined. I really really want a hybrid version of the Hyundai Elantra GT, it doesn't look weird (like Prius) and has tons of space and practical features.
@stbr05106 жыл бұрын
Same here. 2010 Insight had enough room to fit everything I own and move across the country. Never buying a sedan again.

Different sized vehicle. Accord is larger, different demographics.
@03chrisv6 жыл бұрын
Paul I never said that the Insight would replace the Accord Hybrid, just that it would eat into its sales. People looking at a base trim Accord Hybrid might prefer a mid trim Insight. The only advantage the Accord has is that it's slightly bigger, so if needing more leg room or trunk space is a high priority than that's fine, otherwise I see the Insight stealing customers from the Accord.
@fishernate6 жыл бұрын
Paul Some people, myself included, prefer a car smaller than an accord however wouldn’t be caught dead driving a civic. The accord is massive and the Insight is about the size that the accord was 15 years ago. I live in a very congested crowded city with horrible traffic and driving a large car like the accord can be quite tiring after a while. I was hoping Acura ILX would get a hybrid version, but this will do.
@brandononbrand6 жыл бұрын
Comparably priced Accord Hybrid, yes it could. But Accord Touring has key features that Insight Touring lacks, like ventilated seats, true blind spot monitoring, head up display, adaptive suspension, rear air vents, etc. AND Accord is rated 47 mpg versus 48 for Insight Touring

Great review bro, I currently own a Huyndai Ioniq Hybrid Límited, wich I use as a daily commuter. Would you recommend this New Insight over the Ioniq, for medium term reliability 3-5 years? A honda Prius can still go for miles After the Hybrid battery dies, can this car still Work if the IMA battery dies?

Did some research and I´m still on the fence with this car. Many owners are not getting the claimed 50-55 mpg. Reports show 37-43 mpg and that is very , very disappointing. A real shame considering that the Insight has been the best looking Honda in years.

This is a new take on hybrid. It means that the engine is new too. If there's anything new in the market, wait at least a year or two before buying to know the problems and issues during the introductory stage. If I were to buy now, I'd rather pick the Prius as it's been tested in the market for so long now and you'll be rest assured of a headache free ownership.
@ragon52376 жыл бұрын
I don't think Honda ever mess up their engine. However, people that shop around for a hybrid care mostly about fuel economy and this is the part Honda concedes to Prius by a whopping 4mpg combined. That is 4.9 vs 4.5 L/100km for folks in other regions. Now, if they price it right and have all the goodies on the table, leather seats, safety features,etc. (I live in Canada), they will sell just fine.
@hadissaeed15466 жыл бұрын
If we only consider the looks this car is way way better than the prius

@adewey332 жыл бұрын
It is odd that HONDA would do an inverse relationship between gas mileage and features. Higher the gas mileage = less features. Lower gas mileage = more features/accessories Sounds like a money grab. I just bought a used 2019 Honda Insight LX I chose the LX due to gas mileage. It’s a no brainer

I can definitely see this beautiful car taking away sales from the butt ugly Toyota Prius. That's just my biased opinion, of course. I don't even understand why the new Accord hasn't sold in the numbers comparable to the current Camry. I think the Accord design is very smooth, upscale and just good to look at, vs. the Camry, which is way overdesigned and has become a caricature of a car...but to each his own.

Honda having at least a hybrid version of all their cars by 2030 isn't that impressive. They have 4 platforms? The Fit, Civic, Accord, and Heavy Duty platforms account for all of the vehicles sold in North America. The Insight is the Civic Hybrid, there is an Accord Hybrid already. The CRV is on the Civic platform and a hybrid has already been seen at trade shows. The Accord is the base of the Heavy Duty platform which is used for the Odyssey, Ridgeline and Pilot so there's that platform. There was a Fit EV so it shouldn't be difficult to make a hybrid of it and that covers the HR-V.
@everymandriver6 жыл бұрын
