And of course Infiniti confirms the engine for the QX80 as soon as we put this video up...as some folks pointed out, these new SUVs will have a VR35DDT 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 putting out 450 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque. It comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission - so there you go!

We are still driving our 2012 Armada it’s been super reliable for us. The only time its had any issue is when the starter overheated since it’s under the intake.

I bought my 2019 SL used as a former lease and it's been by far one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. The rear self leveling suspension is a nice feature for when I connect the boat, though the rear backup emergency braking can be annoying when launching the boat; it's a simple change in the menus... when I remember to disable it.

in some countries, nissan midsize SUV came out already name nissan TERRA (not Xterra) in turbo diesels, came from Navarra/Frontier platform, same size with 4runner

@@Ezone_X Xterra and Terra are the same, exactly the same as the Patrol, which is called Armada in some overseas countries. Unfortunately, the Xterra does not include a V6. The current Xterra reminds me of what Pathfinder used to be, except that there is no V6.

@Ezone_X I'm not from the usa, and we get the Terra, but they added the X. No, the 4Runner and Fortuner are not the same because the 4Runner shares the Prado platform, while the Fortuner shares the Hilux platform.

Nissan!!! Please keep the V8 as an option... I had a Infiniti Q50 with the twin turbo, love the power but I am not a fan of the reliability..... My wife still drives her 2015 QX80 with 186k miles, had to replace the starter, alternator and batteries, but an overall an reliable vehicle... I will not own another Q50/Q60..

My wife drives a 2013 QX56 with 130,000 miles. One of the best vehicles we've owned. Had to replace the alternator twice in less than a year apart, but after clipping the battery recharge system wire no issues since. The worst part was dealing with the dealership and the extended warranty they gave us while in the middle of the pandemic.

@prnvang9434 what reliability issues did you have with your q50? I currently have one with the 3.0t over 100k miles never had any issues. All I’ve ever done was oil changes, basic maintenance and replace my serpentine belt one time. Still on the original spark plugs lol. I think with any cars some people get lucky and some don’t. Have a cousin with a new Camry and has all kinds of issues but those are supposed to be reliable

Except the Armada will be a full-size SUV with a useable 3rd row and without the jingo puzzle cargo compartment. If this Patrol/Armada version comes to North America with the full off-road goodies of the international Patrol version (fulltime 4WD with centre and rear lockers) then bye-bye Sequoia. Actually, Sequoia is going to eliminate itself on its own...

ur right sir, actually, Patrol is the only SUV with direct Rivary in terms of reliability and durability with the fullsize LAND Cruiser since 1950s (not the prado 250 lineup)

Also keep in mind Sequioa is made in Texas using v6 + turbos + hybrid with part time awd. The armada/patrol is made in Japan, bigger, uses modified nissan gtr v6 turbo engine + full time 4wd (like landcruiser lc300 which it competes against)

If they are still making these, why wouldn't they continue making the titan and just pattern it after this? The frames are the same, cab can be nearly identical, powertrain is the same. I really don't understand Nissan. I get it they don't sell many of them but completely getting out of the market is insane. Toyota also doesn't sell many tundras, especially if you consider the discrepancy in overall sales for Toyota vs Nissan.

I'm actually really curious to see what this thing is going to look like. I hope it is a big change from the old one. Not that it was bad, it was just old. Time for new styling. Maybe it'll signal the direction Nissan is headed for styling. I'm also happy that it retains body on frame with a twin turbo V6. That is getting rare these days. I think the next gen will be EV. I wonder how this will impact the Alliance. Maybe Mitsubishi will use this as a platform for a Montero? That'd be really cool but I really doubt it'll happen.

some other articles online says that mitsu might be bringing the montero/pajero back which will be based on the new nissan patrol or armada in america, hasn't been confirmed yet if it'll happen but let's see.

Glad to see they are using the tried and true 3.5 V6. Would have it been nice for the 3.8 for a more bullet proof setup? Yeah. So , 140 to 150 over the n/a version and probably not maxed out. Now, I wish they weren't killing off the Titan. It would definitely put a dent in the Tundra sales. Providing they advertised it.

Also Nissan patrol in Middle East Similar to the Armada, I saw them testing it in the desert at high temperatures in the Hafeet Mountain in Al Ain city at United Arab Emirates.

100% though can NISSAN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a PRO-4X trim level of the New Armada like the Titan has and Frontier. Have it sit maybe below the Platinum Trip level. Give me 18'' Rim Option / Good ground clearance / maybe upgraded shocks / Multi-Terrain Select (snow, sand, mud, rock) / Locking Center or Rear Differential / Hill Decent Control / No chrome on exterior trim I will put a deposit on it right now!

I wish Nissan would give the armada the Patrols offroad goodies. Nissan is always behind the curve when it comes to cars. Killed the X-Terra and like 2 years later we enter the golden age of 4x4 vehicles. Then the whole XD diesel debacle, eventually killing off the titan altogether. Instead of doing like Toyota and using a global frame architecture when redoing the frontier they just slapped a new body on a 20 year old frame when they could have based it on the current navara… every step seems like a misstep for them.
