Bo Nickal recently said something his coach told him like “it’s okay to be nervous but not okay to be nervous about being nervous.” That made so much sense to me. So simple yet effective. 🤔🇺🇸🗽🦅✌🏽

I feel one thing about protocols is also having to acknowledge that the solution for each individual does not equally benefit for other people, and one has to make a protocol base on their experiences, what they have now and dont under utilize them.

Nerves are the razors edge which keep us attentive towards opportunity of a high performance output possibility. Never back down from an opportunity to be great and excel. Excellent example of the "protocol" we all use in any situation that is going to test us at any level.

This is amazing! I had a few things that really struck me, I even just pictured being fired and it still applies. If you can just pause for a moment and keep yourself from doing your default childhood behavior you can take a different road, you're probably actually okay in the moment and nobody is dieing--or if they are, freezing and crying won't help. And the thing I'm probably most afraid of is my own stress response. This is some serious stoic stuff for everyday life. That's life changing.

Heard recently that the Hebrew word shalom does not mean peace in the since of calm and tranquility, but rather it means breaking that which fastens one's emotions to a turbulent situation. Snap the tether - walk away. Now THAT discribes real peace.

I find forcing myself to have amnesia about what just happened while not thinking about the future and focusing instead on the present is what works for me. You still have to remember lessons learned and be prepared for the future but live emotionally in the present. Edit: I should add that this was a self trained behavior much like what Jocko and Echo talk about.

Good advice. From my own perspective though, I know i can see myself inplementing the mindset of "this stress will go away some day" to a predominantly short term acting short term stresful situations, but when the amount of such silmutaneously acting situations increases and the length of them surpasses certain tresholds, i feel like there is physically no more energy in me to withstand the minds desire to give up on certain amount the stressors, to get the relief and to get the breathing room to recover some energy.
