"90 % of What you worry about doesn't really happen" MY MOM - 1977

Nice - my mom worried about every unlikely possibility possible - especially when I was going out with my friends. I had to tell her "maybe a plane will crash directly on my forehead too, but it seems kinda unlikely"

As someone who has suffered from (genetic) mental health issues aka depression and anxiety since a child on top of childhood abuse and trauma even at 34 years old today every day is a challenge for me. Social situations even as simple as going to a grocery store. I started practicing meditation and I work out more often now. But sometimes that just takes the edge off. I would do anything to be like most people. But I'm (me) and I just have to live my life and play the hand I was dealt in life. It's held me back from so much in this lifetime. I once had so many dreams. Today I live alone in my apartment go day to day to a janitor job and ride my bicycle to it rain or shine. Because my anxiety won't allow me to get a license. I've had many good jobs but always seem to lose them because of this. I get strength from learning and watching your videos. You truly are an inspiration for me. I hope to somehow break free of my chains eventually and be a better man. I know to many they probably see a loser. But I truly am more then that and have abilities I've just not been able to show. Thank you for doing what you do.

7:00 I remember when I had was a speaker at an event with over 500 people, and I went out and said, "Give me a sec. I'm having a panic attack and can't remember my name." We all laughed, I remembered to breathe, and it was enough to override the fear and allow me to just start. I tripped over my words (a lot), but nobody cared and I still got several clients from the event after. Once I was diagnosed with OCD and realized the reason I was avoiding certain situations was because it was compulsive avoidance to minimize anxiety, I started doing smaller exposures that led to larger ones. It started with agoraphobia so bad that I'd have a panic attack just THINKING about walking outside. Through OCD therapy and facing my fear (even when it was the last thing I wanted to do), I was able to speak on stages and travel around the world. It's definitely not comfortable or easy, though, even if it looks like it to other people.
