Then in the same year we got Baldur's Gate 3 and Stray Gods, two games what videogames are capable of as a storytelling medium more than any title since Final Fantasy 7 did. I am 60 years old and had never played a game like BG3 before. I was surprised, shocked, a little embarrased and then totally hooked. I got stuck in Grymforge but the online community came to my rescue with advice and hints so that I eventually got that bastard's head! Unfortunately I got to the part where I had to decide whether to help or kill Orpheus and just couldn't make up my mind so I have never finished it. I have played it through to that point about 4 times but that decision wrecks me. I have always had trouble making decisions and was so pleased with myself for getting to that point when there were so many different ways to do things and I had done them without too much angst but that last decision was just too much for me. It didn't help watching KZbin videos cos that just gave me more things to think about and made the decision even harder. I have the music on in my car, it is so beautiful but I have put the game to one side for my own sanity. I do wish I was younger and healthier though because that cosplay looks like so much fun. BG3 wasn't only a masterpiece of his Genre, in a time where microtransactions and DLCs became the standard for modern games Larian showed the world that is still possible to make a great game that doesn't require additional payment once you buy it. I never played a turn based game like that and at first i was scared i would have find it boring but I've never been more wrong in my life. I got completely absorbed by the environment, the companions and their stories (not to mention i definetely fallen in love with shadowheart the moment she said her first word ahah) and the music...i cried so many times because of the amazing songs they wrote and put in the perfect moments and thinking a game like this was made by a Studio that had not even half of the money of modern AAA studios made me really reconsider when a game is worth buying or not. Thanks Larian for what you have created, with a single game you created milions of stories for us to live and enjoy for everyone. I can't wait for patch 7 to start another run and enjoy once again one of the best videogames ever made. Thank you for everything!

Some people would call me dramatic, but I know that a lot of people (you're not alone in this, none of us are) can understand me when I say... this game saved me. Maybe not directly, but it really, really helped making me understand that I had to stop making some bad things happen to me and take control of my life. Especially Astarion's story. This game and his character specifically came at exactly the right time in my life. I have been playing since december, non stop, and I'm still finding new stuff in every playthrough... but most than that, BG3 helped me being more assertive, starting to say no, distancing myself from bad relationships and situations. I can't put into words how grateful I am. Also, sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian. Thank you guys, sincerely. ❤

@@TheAzorg No need for that since the big update for official mod support is still coming. And in all honesty - it is impossible to include all races, subraces, classes, subclasses, feats etc., its just too much. Not to mention that most people tend to pick the same races anyway - just have a look at Larians own official numbers: The vast majority of people play elves, humans and half elves, a still sizeable but already considerably lower number tieflings, drow and dragonborn and almost no one plays any of the other racesm with halflings being at the end of the line. If they start to include some really obscure races like let's say Saurials or Wemiks that causes a ton of issues, starting with the fact that most of these races don't exist in the game. Even Orcs are not featured in BG3. Lots of work not only for the art design team but also for the animation team etc.

Baldur's Gate 3 is genuinely my favourite video game of all those I've ever played. I always loved fantasy and dragons, got into DnD when I was young and when I got into gaming, wished there was something like DnD in the digital format. But I really thought it couldn't be adapted too faithfully after trying some of the games around. I didn't come across the BG games until BG3, but when I did, I knew it was something else. Baldur's Gate 3 really, truly captured the spirit of DnD, and on a wider level, role-playing itself. You can do anything you want, it's moddable, you can play with your friends, you can muck around and the story is wonderful. It then even improves on DnD with the visuals, the soundtrack, the voice acting and, as Shadowheart says, the lack of having to organise a group. I played over a hundred hours in my first couple of weeks with it and immediately got on my friends' nerves with how much I talked about it, though I got a couple of them into it too. This game is a childhood dream come true. I will always love Baldur's Gate 3, the community around it and those behind it. Thank you too, Larian, and all those reading this. You're all incredible.

Since the very first Divinity I've been an unconditional Larian fan. Game after game, getting better and better. D:OS I & II were already pure gems, but what you guys did with BGIII is more than a legendary game, it's a much welcome sign that cRPGs made by people who actually play them can still exist and that, in the heart of a 50 year old TTRPG and cRPG fan like I am, is invaluable. BG3 is the pinnacle of RPGs of this games generation. They did what the Mass Effect Trilogy achieved in its time : telling a compelling story that involved and inspired its players while being a challenging and fun game. Hundreds of hours of exploring, meeting characters, having fun with friends, reliving fantastic moments, seeing a beautiful community surround this game, and so so so much more. it's just beautiful. One side is doing something valuable and they do it good, and the other side just wants to experience something that have been longed, and they appreciate when they do. what i love in this world has always been this mutual love stuff, and baldur's gate, larian and the community is one of the best examples of it.

I got into D&D after joining a D&D club at my school last year. During Christmas break, I started thinking about D&D nonstop and wanted to get back to playing it. However, the club didn't start back until after break. This led me to pick up Baldur's Gate 3 to satisfy my urge to play D&D. Nine Hells, I was not disappointed. Larian, thank you for this incredible masterpiece! Waiting for the next one! ❤

BG3 has been one of the BEST gaming experiences I've ever had. I made a new friend while playing and together we've spent almost 600 hours playing different runs. And in every single one I've seen something new! This game is a master piece and Larian truly deserves every ounce of love and respect possible. The way they listen,interact, and REALLY care about it's community is something that everyone in the gaming industry should strive to achieve. I've played both DOS and DOS 2 and I'll buy whatever Larian throws at us next because it's bound to be incredible.

A huge thank you to all of Larian, not that I can ever say it loud enough to reach you all. I've actually played Larian games since Divine Divinity, I've loved them all, but BG3 is something special. I am endlessly excited for whatever is next. You guys rock.
