How have auto manufacturers still not figured out that we don’t like piano black? I’ve never seen a single car review that didn’t complain about it.
@watchreport
@watchreport Жыл бұрын
Exactly. But the flip side is people complain about flat matte plastic in cars as well. So, my Ford Edge '22 looks cheap (to most, not to me) because it has flat plastic around the screen and brushed metal look plastic around the gear controls etc. I much prefer this look over the piano black, but its really one or the other, and people seem to complain about both.
@LukeEdward

Because all the people who don’t like piano black are the same people who loved the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon with a manual transmission. OEMs don’t really have faith in the same opinions as we have. Our opinions are just not popular and/or profitable.

30 miles to the gallon every tank full so far. No problem starting with the break thing he was talking about. Drives like a nice car. Got in several loads of wood already. The tailgate adjusts accordingly. 8-ft plywood work fine. Dust does build up a little but I keep a little rag clean it off. Looks great wouldn't change it. Much better vehicle to me than the Maverick which I was waiting forever and canceled. Great vehicle wouldn't change a thing looks amazing.

I have had a sage green SC since Nov 21. Wife has a Area 51 Mav. I’ve driven both on highway and city. I liked the looks of the SC more while she liked the Mav looks. Mostly because one of her previous vehicles was a Ford Explorer Sportrac we had for 11 years. The SC is driven mostly hwy miles and with my sort of heavy foot I average around 28mpg. When we take the Mav on highway I average around 28 to 30. I too am not a fan of the dust magnet black, but I lightly swipe a microfiber cloth over it frequently. Sorry so long but wanted to share prospective on both vehicles.

So, after watching this video I took out my SEL Premium DCT Santa Cruz and went to a back country road and recreated the acceleration test that he shows on this video. I did it in both Normal and Sport modes. In no case did I have the delay in initial acceleration that he shows. In Normal mode I have the dip in acceleration that SC owners are experiencing but that is after you're moving. SC owners speculate this has to do with throttle mapping (not DCT) because it isn't present in Sport mode. What he shows though, is not normal.

If you need more than 4ft bed buy a utility trailer. With all the money you will save with your Santa Cruz a nice Trailer for between $600 & 800 with bigger tires . I have a 5x10 foot and Love it . Well worth it. Worried about Price! You get a 100k warranty and no Oil changes for life. How is that for saving money. Try getting that from Ford . I fixed the Turbo lag Completely by putting the new K&N filter in for about 4o bucks on Amazon. I have the Stone Blue SEL Premium turbo. It pulls my 18ft Camper no problem. It was a pain in the ass getting tow package. Don't buy from Hyundai you will pay a fortune. I got a Curtis and Premium 7pin and Brake Control system pro install for under 600dollars! The Dealer is insane! I have had my Cruzer a year old and 16k now and except for little quarks like all vehicles. After first Oil change I get 25 City and 36 Interstate! But I only drive 5 over and I am a retired Professional Driver of over 5 million miles experience! This is a great Vehicle! Thank you Hyundai Alabama! As ford used to say! Quality! Job 1 . We the people absolutely Love this little Buddy ! Its my 4 wheel little Friend! Last but not least its Faster than my 68 Torrino GT Boss 351 Cleveland. It's a hoot to drive and handle. 🦅🇺🇸❤

The 'Limited' [Premium?] trim is the best option in my opinion. You do get the adaptive cruise you mentioned, turbo, tonneau cover, heated steering wheel, and leather seats. But sadly you lose the physical volume knob. My other niggle is the sharp plastic edge to the footwell against your right leg [where you knock at 11:24.] It actually flairs 'into' your leg, not away to make a nice leg rest. I love auto-hold braking at stop lights, and cruise control. But when I pull my right leg up to enjoy these features...ouch!

I have been looking hard and strong at the SC, and looked at all the trim levels. Honestly, in my opinion, if you plan to haul between 3,500 and 5,000 pounds, yes, you'd want the Premium or Limited for the turbo engine. Otherwise, save yourself $5k, and go for the SEL Activity Package. Detail for detail, nearly (not exactly) the same except the engine. The only benefit to the turbo engine is the extra hauling capacity from 3,500lbs to 5,000lbs (up to 3,500 on the SEL Activity.) I think that's what I'm going to do if/when I finally do pull the trigger.

After seeing the Concept version I could hardly wait for this truck. But then they turned it into a four door. Then they missed a perfect opportunity to have the bulkhead of the bed fold down (Like Chevy Avalanche) to make the bed usable. Then they gave it a boring interior that doesn’t match the hyped up exterior. (At least give it some contrasting colors). Then they fit a old man's funky 2 spoke steering wheel in it, along with no volume knob, high sticker price, ugly pastel Exterior colors, terrible gas mileage…the list goes on. To me it didn’t seem well thought out in execution.

Clearly, you're not a fan of either Hyundai or just the Santa Cruz. It isn't supposed to compare to the "Old Fashion" pickup truck or a heavy-duty off-road truck. What it is, is capable of going off-road, but better designed for the urban driver who needs to bring home a house appliance, bags of fertilizer from the local hardware store. You're clearly missing the point of the design of this vehicle and its purpose. It can go "offroad", obviously not rock climbing, but steep gravel roads, sandy beaches and snow-covered roads. Out of all the reviews I've watched so far, I rank your review near the bottom.

@@dantucker9767 I watched the entire video and yes, it had complimentary points, but it pointed out far is often what is wrong and not what is right, until the very end. Most viewers wouldn't have stayed to watch the entire video. The point being it is not a 4x4, nor a "offroad" vehicle, though it can be to a point. In this video, the bad outweighed the bad in a unjust way. It is a totally unique vehicle and should be presented as such.

Timing belt. Hondas are expensive to maintain. Wouldnt buy santa cruz either
@gabevillarreal96
@gabevillarreal96 Жыл бұрын
@@billricheter5678 I've had my 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe for 7.5 years and have only done oil changes, brakes once, air filters every 2 years, cabin air filters every year, and a Battery that was replaced free under warranty. Yes the timing belt will need to be done at 100k (I'm at 83k currently) but that to me doesn't make my car expensive to maintain because it will be done once every 9.5 years for me. Honda's are actually very inexpensive to maintain especially when you factor in the reliability. I haven't had a single breakdown. I don't trust hyundai after 100k miles. Honda's are just getting broken in at that mileage. My sister bought her 2015 sonata when I got my 2015 Accord. Her car has been a nightmare to maintain costing thousands in repairs due to broken down components. This summer the bill to fix it was $4500 and thats on top of the countless repairs needed costing thousands every 6 months in breakdown costs over the last 5 years, so I sold it for her and got her into a 2017 Toyota Corolla IM. She will do regular maintenance on that car and be perfectly fine💯 Honda for me over Hyundai any day of the week. Not even close. I do wish Honda used a timing chain but to have their reliability durability and dependability, it's a simple sacrifice for me. You could literally save 150$ a year and have the money ready to pay for the timing belt water pump and spark plug replacement if you drive 11,000 miles a year like me. Simple. Peace of mind and trust in the product is priceless to me and if that means replacing the timing belt every 100k I'm ok with that. The "H" on my car stands straight up, as opposed to the slanted "h" on the Hyundai that tobme represents falling down.... just like the cars do after 100k ironically when their "AMAZING" warranty runs out!🤔

So I can fit some pieces of furniture like dressers Etc in my Hyundai Santa Fe and I can also put a bicycle in the back of my Santa Fe or get an add-on for my trailer hitch so I can haul more bikes around on my Santa fe.. completely confused on what this car is meant for? It seems to me that you could do the same thing with an enclosed SUV without this weird tiny open bed. I would think people that want an open bed to have a lot of room to actually utilize it would just buy a pickup truck with an extended cab or you would just buy an SUV like a Santa Fe or whatever because I would have to think it's frustrating to know that whatever you put in the back of this Santa Cruz is exposed to the elements.
