Here's what's been going on.

I've been gone for a while. Thought I'd post a video with a bit of an update.

Speaking for myself and maybe some of your subscribers, I don’t think we watch your videos so much for the restorations as much as just to hear you talk about what you’re doing and maybe in some cases how you messed up and then persevered to actually finish the project. Most of us are not professionals just regular guys who like the fool around in the shop… And I feel that’s what you are, but you have a special talent to make a video about it which we don’t so we watch you. And that serves as an encouragement for us to continue doing what we’re doing whether turns out good or bad…..I hope you understand what I am trying to say… Be well then and be issued that we wish you many more years…

Ben, I've been watching your videos for ages now and can't express how much i looked forward to the piano and tool cleanup. Some of us find it relaxing to watch you take a wire wheel to an old thing and make it look good again. Or even fail in the process. My gf and i would place bets on if you would paint a tool red. your content became a staple of our relaxing time before bed. You enjoyed it, and it made it enjoyable to watch. Would love to see more tool restorations but as you pointed out, life is short and you do what makes you happy! Thanks for everything! Glad surgery went well!

I would not have a channel were it not for Scoutcrafter. I had no viewers until I got the "Scoutcrafter Bump" as I call it. He's very good at doing that for KZbinrs. And frankly, his before and after shots are what drew me to making videos in the first place.

I'm still on the suscribed list. My wife had a heart transplant ten years ago, and a friend just had a heart attack, and has had a stent installed. They are both chugging along, enjoying life. The succesful results of your surgery will give you great peace of mind, and youll feel alot better, too.

You seem like such a nice guy, just ignore the jerks in the comments. They are insecure, jealous trollers with nothing better to do. I think you have a great channel, and I hope you will keep putting videos out. Here is an idea......Magdad just showed us the Allway stickers you made for him in his last video. You could make a video showing us that process, those were awesome! I'm always looking for replacement decals for my KZbin project and would support you! Oh and by the way, you will never regret the AC purchase. I live in NC where I get 95+ in the summer and teens in the winter. Best thing I ever did was add it to my shop.

Hi Ben. It's funny that you posted this today. I was wondering just this morning where you've gone. Glad that you're doing better and that you're going to be adding videos to your library. You may think that what you're doing is just the basics but I've picked up and few tips from you and they've made a difference in my restorations. As for the ride commentators, while some times it is difficult, pay them no mind. Your putting yourself out there and making videos they are sitting around watching them and doing not much else. It's your channel, make the content you want , how you want to make it.

Ben, do what you like. I'll keep watching, because part of the attraction is your easygoing demeanor, more so than the content. As far as tool restorations go, what I'm about to say can be taken two ways. Please take it as the compliment that it's meant to be... I always watch Scoutcrafter's videos to see what is POSSIBLE. I always watched your videos for inspiration of what I CAN DO, with my limited time, equipment and skill set. I watch you BECAUSE there's a good chance I can do it too, not to see something I have no hope of achieving. And hopefully as you get better, I get better. THAT is the great value of your videos. Ahh Ben, I really feel for you mate. I have a tiny channel, Scrounga’s Workshop, and I’m just about ready to post a video I started in the middle of last summer and now it’s freezing cold in the middle of winter. I’m too small to get many nasty comments so far but yes, it does hurt when you get them. Life took me in a different direction for a while and I wasn’t even watching some of my favourite channels. Now like you, I’m back on the straight and narrow again. I insulated my workshop too last summer, after 40 years, because of the heat but also the cold in winter. I probably would have installed a window rattler like yours but I managed to grab a reasonably new reverse cycle unit for free from the house next door before it was demolished. Happy days. I understand how difficult it can be wondering if your videos are good enough or interesting but I suppose the analytics can help out there. I tend to avoid looking at them though because I don’t want to be doing the same thing because it’s popular. Scout Crafter was the one that convinced me to start making videos in the first place simply because I thought people might be interested in what I like doing. Watching him again now has convinced me to get going again. Like Scout I have avoided monetisation because I saw it as bringing in unnecessary complications and I certainly didn’t want to become like some of the channels you and I have watched that get so big that I don’t enjoy them anymore. Sponsors, not answering comments, pressure to make more videos, you know what I mean. So my friend, you do what makes you happy and those that like it will follow you along. We're here for you Ben.. Do what pleases you... If you live in a scenic area, do a few road trips.. These are getting pretty popular these days... Take it easy and recover slowly... Ben, glad to see you back. You should make the content you want to make. There is always going to be haters, just try to ignore them. They seem to be everywhere today. Make the videos that you want to make. I like your videos, not necessarily to learn tool restoration but I just like your personality for some reason and think your videos always look and sound top notch. I'd still watch if you made cross dressing puppet shows. BTW, the air conditioner can be heard but it's not that loud and isn't too distracting. Stay cool and stay productive.

Came across yours and left it on hopping you were ok and would see you again. Love your channel and won’t stop watching no matter what you film! I like seeing even if doesn’t always turn out the way you wanted. That is also my projects and use what you do to help me. I understand the health thing my cancer has been kicking my butt. Haven’t been doing many projects. But feeling better so might do more.
