Ollah, our vehicle registration system is out dated, its something from the 1960-70s, for example change of ownership one has to pay CVR, the new owner has to pay for new plates etc, here in UK a car carries its number plate for the rest of its life it can have 10 owners along the line, the number plates remains the same. So imagine if the car has exchanged hand 10 times, it means it had 10 number plates but same VIN number. Why both same number plate and VIN for the rest of it life? The zim government is desperate for cash hense these stupid things it has seen the rise of car import etc and thought to milk people from stupid toll gates to these fees. I saw a video claiming that thise plates are now being done at UZ, so why the price when its done local? Yes lets move to plastic than that alluminum. Why should get a police clearance, when am dealing with the Central Vehicle Registration, they should know better about how legit is my car than anyone else, CVR and police should have shared database, for reported stolen cars or those involved in robberies etc, its the two offices that should clear each other with me doing anything.
