Because these guys don't really know how to make a good shape, so they make a "safe" shape that fits no one and everyone. And at the same time they fuck up sensor positioning, which is crucial, making people perform even more shit without them knowing why, which is one reason why they keep swapping mice.

@@fotoschopro1230 exactly. we love to say bad things about companies that play safe, but the market is really feral towards innovation. not to even mention how expensive it is to try something new, and very few people have the money or drive to try new things. breaks my heart remembering the LA1 situation. imagine being a small retailer like LGG trying to develop a mouse shape only to get stolen from by a bigger manufacturer.
@chickencoopououwu25843 ай бұрын
A lot of smaller companies can't afford to experiment on shapes. It's no surprise that the best selling Chinese mice on Aliexpress are the various GPX clones. It sells. And for consumer this is a good thing, you gain access to 80%+ of the experience at a quarter of the big brands' prices. Ideally it's up to the big brands to innovate to gain an edge over the smaller brands' cheaper prices, but that's not happening since the average consumer knows nothing about the market and will keep gobbling up the overpriced garbage from mainstream brands.

I have to appreciate the passion you've maintained in this niche for so long. There was a time when I fell deep into the gaming mouse rabbit hole, buying around 40 different mice over a couple of years. (I do regret that mania now). Eventually, I realized it’s all essentially the same. Everything has been technically good enough for quite a while now (1000hz, sub 80g, essentially flawless wireless performance). The only thing that remotely interests me anymore is when someone tries something bold with the shape or design. The traditional approach to mouse design has been done to death.

im surprised the dock system isnt more widely implemented. 3950/3395 sensors and nordic mcus for 8k are getting more and more prevalent but since 8k uses so much more battery i would rather plop it on a dock when im not using it rather than plugging and unplugging a cable. ajazz, thunderobot and delux are the main people doing it and i hope that catches on. hotswap mechanical switches would be nice too if we arent getting raesha opticals (which are inherently hotswap) also the lack of classic shapes is disappointing. the amount of times i see someone wanting an intellimouse clone with modern tech and closer to weight is more than i thought i would ever see ngl edit: ajazz, not asrock

I dont want heavier I want lighter but I dont want a fingertip grip, I want something to fit comfortably in the pocket of my palm. And Razer has never really jumped out at me unfortunately as the pricing for what you get is usually not the best value for their mice in particular. Razer keyboards? fantastic. love em. their mice leaves alot to be desired imo Either you get overdesigned slop that just feels awful or you get under designed jack of all trades. It's so freeing to be able to try a boatload of good enough mice with popular and well known shapes without needing to spend a fortune, it almost feels like that old zowie mouse package thing.
